Kobold War-Cleric

First Post
I'd like to make a kobold cleric of a war-deity, who doesn't hesitate to rush headlong into combat.

I'm not usually that worried about min-maxing, but the whole -4 str thing and -2 con means that I've practically got to min-max just to remain competitive.

Any ideas? I know clerics are supposed to be one of the "super" classes, after druid, but not really sure how.

This will be for an E6 campaign, starting at level 1.

I was thinking of taking mounted combat and getting one of those halfling dinosaurs as a mount.

So... thoughts? The only things I won't budge on is that it has to be a kobold cleric to some deity with the war-domain.

With War and Strength, for example, as domains, it's not that difficult. Bull's Strength goes a long way, and if you put it in heavy armor, shield and cast Shield of Faith, for example, you can have a high AC kobold that can hit well and cast the occasional Hold Person and the like. I think the mounted combat option is good, though. Put a riding dog in barding, and with a high Dex, the kobold can avoid a number of attacks. Clerics are powerful because they have good armor, good saves, decent BAB, decent hp, and very good spell selection. Just work to build on those (spells like Conviction, Shield of Faith, Bull's Strength, Bear's Endurance, etc.).

There's a kobold deity Kurtulmak (I honestly don't know much about him), but he's got the Earth, Envy, Evil, Hatred, Kobold, Law,Luck,Scalykind,Trickery, and War domain (according to the diety pdf here )

The Hatred domain gives you:
Once per day, choose one opponent. For 1 minute, you gain a +2 Profane bonus on attack, saving throws, & AC vs. that opponent only.

That seems to fit the rush headlong into combat. That and the War domain should set you up well for combat.

There's a feat in the Book of Exalted Deeds that lets you add your WIS modifier as a bonus to hit instead of STR with simple or natural weapons. That might be the ticket if you can get your DM to modify the exalted requirements.

You might also be able to do something with Weapon Finesse, TWF, and the Divine Favor spell. The bonus damage from the spell adds to each hand.
