KotOR 2

(1) Better inventory management and (2) better combat interface are on my wish list. Er, for the PC version, that is. I guess the X-Box interface is as good as it can be, but we PC'ers deserve an interface that uses more than 4 keys on the keyboard.

This was the cover story of the last EGM. It's got a ton of screenshots, and interview, and more details. Check it out!

I'm definitely stoked for this game.

You may want to check out this month's CGW for the sister article. It has some details that the EGM article didn't, such as how they'll handle the fact that different gamers have different KOTOR 1 endings in mind going into KOTOR 2, as well as word that several of the NPCs from the first game will be in the second in varying roles...including everyone's favorite meatbag-hating droid  I'm also liking how they plan to address the ol' "too many characters to play with" dilemma in a very SW fashion.

amnesia or not I hope you can start as a jedi this time, I was sick of holding off advancing in whatever class I was so I could get enough levels of jedi goodness in my 20 level lifespan.

According to the EGM preview, you start as a Jedi in KotOR 2. You still multi-class, though, into Jedi Master/Jedi Watchman, Jedi Weapon Master, Sith Lord, Sith Marauder, or Sith Assassin.

In the CGW article I believe it says that you start as a Jedi but that you have been exiled by the Jedi. Now when you return you have lost your lightsaber and most of your connection to the Force. The Jedi have disbanded or something and you are somewhat responsible for bringing them back together. I look forward to this game…

In the e-mail I got about it, it stated that there will be more classes. If you start as a jedi then perhaps they have implemented more prestige type routes for expansion.

I hadn't really thought about the "too many NPCs" problem, but it's there. Minor spoilers...
For example, towards the endgame, your main character plus another two Jedi is nearly unstoppable, making people like Carth, Canderous, and Zaalbar totally superfluous. Mission and the droids remain useful for their skills (Demolitions, Computer Use), but for pure combat beatdown you can't beat 3 Jedi.
Although it is a lot of fun to do the level ups for not one but nine, count 'em, nine, (N)PCs. :)

I just finished playing through KotOR for the second time. This time, i went Dark Side.

Wow! That was a lot of fun. In my opnion, it was more interesting than the Light Side.

Going dark, becoming the "true" Lord of the Sith, Bastila becoming your apprentice, having Zaalbar kill Mission, Carth running away like a baby, killing Jolee because he refused to kneel, ripping the life from the brain-dead Jedi before Malak could..... I love this game!
