KotS/Scales of War - Dedicated Casual Game? (Semi-Recruiting)

I'm looking to start up a pbp campaign on EnWorld. I'm not looking to be creating a campaign from scratch, just fleshing out and tweaking the Scales of War or the KotS -> Thunderspire AP.

I'm a fairly casual rp'er I don't post a lot of words to describe whats happening and for this campaign I am mostly looking for an action - based game. (Yes, that is an odd fit for pbp.) I'm looking for players who can pretty much be relied on to post once a day on weekdays, and are not looking for a deep intra-character immersion game. (Check out The Retaking of Forgehold's IC thread, I'm probably a better RPer than I am making myself sound.)

I'm more interested in Scales of War, only because I am subscribing to the DDI anyway and I'm not sure I want to shell out the cash for the other mods. I have KotS and do eventually want to run or play it.

Any offical WotC crunch is ok, but non-PH1 races need approval.

Anyway, I'd like to see if anyone wants to join me.

Sure. Casual is fine and works well enough in PbP for sure.

But only for Scales of War, as I have already DM'ed KotS myself.

I would be interested in making an elven cleric, since that's the class I'm most familiar with so far.

One question... how would you do the mapping? I think that's fairly important for 4th edition, as the game is so dependant on the grid.

I've had good results with MapTool, if I have PDF's to steal the maps from. I've used Excel, and converted that too. I think overall I prefer Maptool as the map is more evocative. I'm using it offline and generating a picture. I have not tried any interactive solution for the maps. I use invisible castle for dice.

If you have other solutions to suggest I am open.

Sounds good. Havn't tried Maptool myself, but it sure looks like a nice tool to do maps.

This sounds right down my ally and what I've been looking for.

I'd be most interested in SoW as well, since I am currently PCing KotS at my table-top home game.

I'm interested in playing an Elven Defender with a Pole-arm. Either a Fighter (cleric) or a Paladin (fighter).

Well, that's two players, we'll be viable (IMO) at 4. Definitely sounds like Scales of War is the way to go.
