As Ximix reads from the document and intones the word Reveal in ancient Medibarian or at least his best approximation of a language he really hasn't studied a heavy grinding noise fills the air. Everyone looks around and Garrit notices that a heavy stone drawer beneath the southern most sarcophagus is sliding open between the two. The stone drawer stops as it reaches the other sarcophagus revealing a suit of chain mail, an ornamental rapier and a couple of potions and scrolls. Where there were no skeletons in the sarcophagi, there is one inhabiting this coffin. Jallembo looks down the northern hallway but fails to see anything of interest.

Ximix shakes his head in wonder, "Thank you Gliran for your providence."
Then, with his monotone restored, the priest asks the 'rogues' "Perhaps check for traps, I wish I could say I understood this ancient culture's burial customs, but it is not so."

Upon Ximix request, Jallembo goes to the sarcophagus and checks for any traps. He shakes his head negatively: "No.. can't see they're trapped.. Err.. do you see any magic on all this??" he concludes to Ximix.

"Mind you, I still can't see the relation between these coffins and what's happening in the hamlet.."

ooc: no traps found. I'm going to assume that Ximix casts detect magic. We can retcon this I guess if he chooses not to.

Ximix can tell that the 2 scrolls and 2 potions are magic. The armor and rapier are not, though they are quite high quality.

Ximix does not have Detect Magic memmed... though he could med for a couple minutes (how long is it to change out an Orison?)

ooc: its 15 minutes to memorize a spell into an empty slot. you can only unmemorize things during your period of memorization after a days rest (ie. 1/24hrs after 8hrs of rest).

Lets not worry about it because what I've said is pretty self explanatory. I'll assume that by the end of this you'll cast it on the assembled loot and find out the same details.

OOC: I guess I've been running that "swap spells in X time" houserule for so long I'd forgotten it wasn't standard by the book =-) I'll mark "Read Magic" out of the spell list and we'll carry on.

"I would be glad to hold the scrolls and potions until we can determine their purpose."

ooc: sounds like a plan. Sorry for the confusion, I should've checked with you before assuming. No harm done though. Remember that spellcraft checks can determine both, though they are a bit high for 1st level characters.

Taking everything with you? or just the scrolls and potions?

After that where to next? and who's leading?

"Fine by me.. replied Jallembo who looked at the rapier and mail with interest.
I could get a good price for these.. he thought.

He looked at the others and said: "Ok, let's take these as well.."
and picking the objects up he said to the skeleton in a superstitious tone:
"It's for a good thing, old one, really!"
He held the rapier up, checked its weight and balance to determine whether it's purely
ornemental or could be used as a melee weapon to finally say: "I'll carry this one
for the time being.. who's carrying the chain mail?"

He then walked back up to the corridor.
