L1: Strange Doings (Erekose13 Judging)

OOC: Garrit will lead the way down the corridor, if no one else objects. Also, carrying the chainmail will put Garrit into heavy load, but if nobody else can carry it, he will.

Tried spellcraft (12) so... Spell-casting it is!

OOC: It would put Ximix well into Medium, but that's not a major concern since he's not a front line fighter. Ximix will carry the chainmail until we get out of danger at the least.
He'll also be prepared to turn undead again - now that he has some confidence in his command of that aspect of Gliran's power. He'll be in the rear with Manon (I assume we're NPC'ing him or did he just go home?)

[imager]http://www.enworld.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=29528&stc=1[/imager]Jallembo leads the way further down the corridor, the party's light carrying his vision into the next room as well as a little ways up the stairs on the right. It appears that the far room is a series of narrow doors all the way around the room. There are about 10 of the doors and most of them are closed. Each of the heavy wooden doors bears a magic sigil on it though none of them have any form of window. 2 of the doors stand open, though he can't see into them yet.

At the stairs to the right, Jallembo can see that they ascend up two flights of stairs to a large stone door at the top.

Jallembo stays at the corner facing the staircase his shotbow in hands. "Are these magical writings Ximix??" he asks.

He wonders for himself: what is that place? and what has it got to do with the skeletons in the hamlet??

[sblock=DM]I probably won't be posting during the week because of a new consultancy job and I'm not sure whether I'll have internet access, though I'll post normally from friday night & weekends. so less interaction from Jallembo... :/[/sblock]

Ximix is unable to decipher the words on the doors, though he thinks they are labels to the doors in some fashion. Peaking inside the two open doors, they look little more than cells. No windows, no features inside, nothing beyond a small narrow empty room. At the far end of the corridor, Jallembo manages to find a trigger though he does not yet know what it might do.

[sblock=Amaury]Understood, got lots on my plate too these past couple of weeks, so hopefully we can both keep up to see this through to the end.

Made search check for you, but nothing else yet.[/sblock]

Ximix studies the symbols quietly for a time, then shakes his head, "I find these symbols as much a mystery as you, though they seem to merely mark the door, as a label, I know not why."

"So, where to next?" the half orc inquires.
The Elf appears contended to walk down this dank hall and study the markings upon the doors... Garrit shakes the priest from his reverie and yet he still stares blankly about for a moment before replying.
"It seems we must open each door, for behind any of them may lie the answer to our mystery. The manner which those last undead used to attack their foes is totally unlike the butchery that destroyed the cow... so the villain is not yet uncovered."

Garrit Kelspire, Paladin 2 of Hyrag

"I will stand ready," he says.

Then he walks up to the closest door and stands next to it, in the square just south of the door.
