ooc: move action to open, move action to close. if you want to, we can do that.
OOC: Yes, please!

Ximix has no sooner opened the door than he takes in the monstrosity behind it and slams the heavy stone back into place, driving it with his shoulder to keep it from re-opening.

"Um... wrong door?" While this may be the first attempt at humor from the cleric, the wide eyed wonder in his eyes betrays not fear, but rather interest. His words tumble out as he rests his back upon the stone door. "What manner of beast was that, know any of you!? Are we prepared to face such a foul visage? I would not expect us to throw ourselves at every foe we encounter - and this one was likely trapped for some time so could likely not be our villain. Did anyone perchance view the other contents of the room, was there another exit?"

OOC: Spot Check = 9 - he must have been a bit distracted :p

Ximix manages to get the door slammed shut before the ghoulish creature beyond is able to react. Jallembo noticed that the room was small and cell like, just as the other open rooms are. Inside the creature throws itself at the door, but is unable to dislodge it.

Jallembo has barely the time tp withdraw and only catches glimpse of the creature inside. But that's enough for his face to frown in disgust and horror.

"What on earth??! Ouch, pouaw! It's been trapped for ages in there?? What do we do? The other one is likely to have a similar creature.. Who would do such a thing??"

"Someone open the door on my mark," he says.

Ready an action to smite the undead when someone opens the door.

Ximix stands against the door, looking at his comrades of just these past few days. Something hardens in his face and he addresses Garrit directly. "What gain shall we reap by endangering our selves - and our mission, which is to protect the local farmers from further attacks - against a foe that is already contained? Foul though that beast may be, we must keep clear headed. It is not a threat, we should not waste our lifeblood against it, rather we should make it more secure still - perhaps wedging the door closed."

A pause, then with increasing fervor, the priest continues. "Then we should press on, find the one behind these abominations, and there good knight of Hyrag, there you would do well to drive your holy vengeance deep into the foul progenitor of our distress!" Finishing with a serious and emphatic tone, the Elf stands looking from Garrit to the others, though there does seem to be a bit of embarrassment in his features, you've not seem him get passionate about much... and he continues somewhat drained, his more reserved manner restored.
"We can come back to lay waste to the trapped abominations at our convenience, and I for one will support you in this endeavor, but please let us leave them for now."

"Are you so sure that thing is trappeed?" he asks. "I would hate to leave something as dangerous as that beast to get free and wreak havok."

The door remains stuck though you can hear the thing continue to batter against it (as is the other one down the hall).

(ooc: I'll leave you guys over the long weekend (yay Canada Day) to decide whether to open and dispatch now or move on)

Jallembo listens to his comrades. The elf is right though Jallembo wouldn't mind to see Garrit finish that thing one for all. But that wouldn't solve the mistery surrounding the village.
"err.. well, I think Ximix is right.. we can always come back to destroy these things.. let's try to find out who or what is behind all this.." he says staring at the staircase.

Nodding, thankful for the support, Ximix steps forward from the door, walking back to the rubble pile. Selecting a pair of roughly wedge-shaped rocks the Elf hands one to Manon, pointing at the other door from which the noise is coming. Holding the edge just-so, Ximix asks if anyone has a suitable tool to drive it into place.

In the meantime, Jallembo checks the other empty rooms for anything that may give an idea if they were just cells or had another purpose.
