L4W Discussion Thread V

I went over mercurial to help, don't have time for any more now sorry :( (should I email the judges when I go through character sheets? Also, you only need 1 judge approval, correct?)

If you email the judges that'd be great. Only 1 judge needs to approve & 1 other member of L4W

4.2, I tells ya. 4.2. That's what the game is now.

Also I see they still haven't updated the character builder with the dark sun / other stuff from months ago. :hmm:

Honestly, it's hard enough to continually chase a moving target. I mean, it's HARD. My physical books that I have purchased are basically worthless now (a mistake I won't be making again). But when the software they have supplied to supplement / replace these books remains un-updated, they may as well have not released anything at all. Except they do, and then they continually change and tweak all the rules, and put forth multiple different documents in multiple different locations that all have newer and more updated materials...

I'm not kidding: this is rapidly becoming one of the worst products I think I've ever invested in.

Urg, seems like a big Paladin nerf to me. I like the new half-elf power though.
What's wrong with the Divine Challenge clarification? I looked over it last night and don't remember anything being significantly changed. Did I miss something important?
It even seemed like an upgrade for hybrid paladins since they don't need to activate DC as an immediate action anymore.

My mistake, for some reason I never knew about the having to engaging your mark part of divine challenge.

This forum is the only D&D I play. Making a character was, without CB, an annoying, slow, and tedious task having to check multiple sources for feats, powers and errata. With CB moving online, 10 $/month is too much for a couple games that can feature in that same month perhaps a combat and some RP. I suppose I can live with the latest version, but then again I have to start checking errata and losing access to the latest versions of feats and whatnot.

As far as can see, it's a smart move from a business standpoint. It's easier for them to enforce the "no account sharing" policy. Which, let's face it, we've all been abusing the heck out of. $10 a month is not much to pay as far as I'm concerned. Especially since, with that fee, you get access to the entire rules compendium, every add-on and a neat program that makes character-creation a breeze. I honestly think it's a great deal.

Although, I do find the online-only thing a bit obnoxious.

At least you guys aren't playing $$Warhammer$$.
