I liked it. But I recognized it for what it was -- a kid's movie. I would have loved it as a 10-year old.
As an adult I would have appreciated less exposition, but that's my only real complaint. As usual, MNS does a great job of establishing setting and mood, and populating the story with three-dimensional characters. The real fault is in how it was marketed.
I'm at the point in life now where I'd rather spend $7.50 to see something that dares to be different and creative and fails than see something formulaic that takes no risks.
