"Be wary, I believe there may be a trap."

OOC: I point to the tile squares that appear to be a different color. If there is anyone skilled at such things I defer to them. Otherwise I try to determine if we can bypass the tiles by jumping or walking around them

Perception Roll -

You find that the "tile" ahead of you is not really stone, but simply a flimsy tile-colored paper laid over a few beams of wood. A simple few pokes and prods cause the entire thing to collapse and fall in to a very deep pit.

Across the pit, there is a door similar to that you found at the enterance. There is about six inches of "lip" of floor in front of the door and the pit seems to be about 15 feet across.

What to do, what to do?

New Map -- 4

There is not enough floor for us to cross. Perhaps there is another way around.

OOC: Perception check to look for another way around.

GM: told you there was only the entrance, a hallway, and the final room... :)

Alas, there doesn't seem to be any other way to the west end of the hall. The shaft is carved from the stone all the way to the north and south walls, leaving not even a ledge to scramble across.

If only there was something you could lay across the pit...

GM: for purposes of this exercise, everyone's strong... remember, the goal here is for me to get to play with the map tool...

A once-over on the first door is enough to make you believe it would make a good drawbridge. The hinges are rusty and, with a few tough yanks, the entire door comes free of the opening. Luckily, it stands about 16 feet tall!

New Map -- 5

Gingerly, Warren eeks his way across the span and stops at the door...

In the quiet, he can hear faint shuffling sounds, the soft murmur of chanting in a foreign tounge, and the crackle of a fire beyond the door.

Wait fair [insert Warren's race here]! I will go first!! For good!!!

OOC: I jump across the hole to reach the front of the door just before Warren gets there. I am the defender, after all. P.S. yes, I see this character as being The Tick. Hence the blue font. Except I'm slightly more intelligent. Slightly.

A figure looms out of the grim, looming darkness behind. In a grimly, dark and looming voice it says:

Good evening, gentlemen. What brings you down... down... down to the looming darkness of my home? Perhaps you hope to grimly steal my few meager possessions? Or perhaps you merely need another sword for the looming darkness on the other side of that grim door.

I size up whichever one of them looks healthiest and smile, dark and grim. Perhaps I loom a little.

Danny vaults over the overzealous Warren and luckily at the last moment, Warren scuttles back on the door/drawbridge. At the same moment, Casper the Friendly Vampire, aka Jordan, appears in black on black, but the DM is unable to read his text, so he ignores everything.

Danny decides enough's enough, and it's time to open the door....

New Map -- 6

AHH! Across the room, illuminated in the darkness, is a skeleton bathed in fire, giving off smoke and flames. Ahead of you, the shuffling of feet and gibbering of sounds and moans sets your hankles on edge. Combat has begun!

The Frog Lord Madman

"What? Who! HOW!! My pit trap should have stopped you all! You will pay for your intrustion!" <rddip!>

You hear the voice from far across the chamber and it begins to chant faster and louder...something about cajun seasoning and frog legs......

Up next, Jordan, Warren
