Legendary Persons and Places in the World of Greyhawk

The World of Greyhawk campaign setting has many legendary places and persons. Vecna. Kas. Slerotin, Last Mage of Power of the Suel Imperium. The Wind Dukes of Aaqa. Esmerin. The City of the Gods.

I would like a little more information on Greyhawk's legendary persons and places. I am a participant in Edena of Neith's upcoming industrial revolution thread that starts February 20th. However, I do play in Living Greyhawk. I think the information could help those people who are interested in the World of Greyhawk setting.

So, let us share the knowledge.

The City of the Gods was actually borrowed from Dave Arneson's Blackmoor campaign, so I'd leave that out for now. Don't forget the sunken Isles of Woe, or the High Wizard Priest that ruled there.

Well, is anyone out there with some information?

Scotty G, thanks. As I recall, don't the Isles of Woe and the Wizard-Priest have something to do with the Codex of Infinite Planes? Wasn't it created by the Wizard-Priest. I think the Isles of Woe were in the Nyr Dyv.

Just bumping the thread.

The Wind Dukes of Aaqa can be found in the Rod of Seven Parts boxed set, and are converted to 3e stats in the Oriental Adventures web enhancement found at WotC's site.

The High Wizard Priest used the codex to expand his domain, but he did not create it It eventually brought doom to him and his domain. And yes, the Isles were in the NyrDyv. All per the 1st ed. DMG.

Thanks for the help, guys.

This is some very interesting stuff. I had forgotten half of the stuff existed, and there was a lot I never knew about.

By the way, if you are interested in joining the next IR thread, which starts up on February 20th, you can learn more here:

The thread will be played out at: http://www.enworld.org/messageboard...=&threadid=2776 in the In Character forum. The rules are already here along with some comments and clarifications.

Thanks again.
