Leif's AD&D 1E Game [IC 01]

Girion Valtarte

((steeldragons: 3rd and 4th level fighters use the same column on the to hit matrix. That is, they improve by two every two levels. They give the option, as an optional rule, to give a +1 to hit on even levels, to simulate a one point improvement each level, but as Leif has not mentioned it we can't assume it. -- Helfdan the 1st ed grognard)) DM EDit: Yeah, I'm aware of this rule, but I think we're going to just go by the attack matrices as written.

Girion hacks fiercely at the spiders!

Surprise phase 1: 17 to hit, damage 3

Surprise phase 2: 6 to hit, damage 1

DM Edit: *See post # 99 regarding surprise* Girion actually didn't get the second attack, but it was a miss anyway, so no loss there.

Tactical Edit: Girion will stay where he is, at AA16, and thus attacked S2

Leif's AD&D 1E game [IC 01]

Falariel pulls his sword and moves to intercept the closest spider to him.

(Stepping to spider S1)

[OOC: Sorry for the delay. Job and schedule change, plus family medical issues. Gonna try and stay on top of things as well as possible.]

Edit Requested

Everyone please edit your last posts and give me coordinates from the map for where your characters end-up and which spider(s) are attacked.

[Thanks for the edits!]

Spiders on the Bridge

Elydd and Gorash both miss, but Girion Valtar hits spider S2 for some damage, hacking of some of the creature's legs. 'Riel's attack misses.* Spiders S3 and S4 advance on the party (Girion) and attsack with their bother (S1) and mother (S2). All four spiders miss Girion Valtar and Gorash!

longsword (+1/+3) attack vs. S1 (1d20+2=5, 1d8+1=2)
1 vs. Gorash, 2, 3, and 4 vs. Girion Valtar (1d20=9, 1d20=7, 1d20=14, 1d20=6)

[Falariel, your sheet is missing an additional +1 To Hit that you are entitled to for being as Elf using a longsword. I added that into the roll posted in this post.]

OOC: Ordinarily, we'd have already established an initiative-order by round 2, but this time I can't find that we've done so. I apologize for the oversight. Girion's initiative roll [6] stands as party init. for this fight.

OOC: Truthfully, as Helfdan says in post # 109 above, we also used to roll for init every round back in the prehistorically-old days. I guess we could do that for this game as a nod to the past, but my tendency is to NOT do that unless faced with overwhelming player support for the idea.

spider initiative (1d6=3)

PCs are up

Girion Valtar

[sblock=OOC]You mean we're not rolling initiative every round? You young whippersnappers!!! B-) :D :D
[/sblock]

Girion slashes once more, but the abomination skitters out of the way!

To hit: 7 :(

OOC: Initiative every round is how we always did it back in the proverbial day. I'm totally up for it...though dunno if I, alone, count as "overwhelming player support." :D

EDIT: Guess you want some attacks too, don'cha.

ic: Ellydd regains his balance and stance and now, with all of their foes revealed, he takes another slash at the dark wicked creatures. (Attempts attack on S1)

1d20+1, 1d8+1=[15, 1], [5, 1]

16! [woohoo!] and 6 damage.
