Leif's Homebrew 4E D&D Game, nee 'Leif's Keep on the Shadowfell' [IC #1] [FULL]

Kobold Battle

Fortune does not smile on the adventurers this round -- every single one of them misses. The two Kobold Dragonshields again attack Basher7 and Tarrk with their short swords.

The kobolds do not share in your misfortune, however. Basher7 is struck a resounding blow (modified 20) for 6hp damage. Tarrk is also struck (modified 19) for 9 hp damage. Attack, damage vs. Basher7, Attack, damage vs. Tarrk (1d20+7=20, 1d6+3=6, 1d20+7=19, 1d6+3=9)

Everyone catches his breath and resolves to do better next time. (I hope.)

Basher7

The successful attack by the Kobold only seems to increase the Warforged's body's efforts. Redundant systems kick in and he continues fighting with no indication of damage.

Drawing back the Craghammer, Basher7 once again tries to pound (1d20+8=26) the Kobold into the ground. (damage (1d10.minroll(3)+6=9))

Tarrk's blows are laughable inaccurate. What troubles this savage warrior. (Besides the many gashes he has already taken.)

Aimhirghin Maolán

Aimhirghin sees the brash Minotaur struck again by his opponent and worries for his friend's health. Focusing his will, he slides fingers across his drumskin and speaks. "Deabhail!" The word rolls forth from his mouth and carries clearly to Tarrk's bovine ears, filling the Barbarian with a sense of well being and confidence.

Tarrk, the wounded minotaur

OOC: If Tarrk wants to take advantage of the power just used by Aimhirghin, he will need to spend his next Standard Action by using his Second Wind to spend a healing surge (that will restore the usual number of hp, +4 extra from Aimhirghin's spell). That means no attack from Tarrk next round, if he does this.

This was dealt with in the OOC thread, and Tarrk does not have to spend his Standard Action to use the surge, so he is free to continue the fight.

Elerosse (Eladrin Wizard)

DM's IMMEDIATE INTERRUPT for critical hit. (By a wizard with a longsword, no less!)

OOC: Elerosse/Lou, on a crit. you automatically deal maximum damage, see PH p. 278. You need to refigure damage, don't you? Oh, wait, Str bonus no longer applies to damage, does it? So your max is eight, then? Duhh. Nevermind.

IC: Elerosse draws his longsword and promptly disembowels the kobold minion before him.

OOC: And then there were NONE (remaining kobold minions, that is). Sorry, renau1g, the WIZARD stole your thunder. (Man, the guys will never let you live this one down! :D )

OOC: As you were... pray, continue the round

Leaving the eladrin to look after himself, Khellek begins moving towards the dragonshields. "Moonmaiden, guide my blade" the shifter calls out as he reaches his target. A divine radiance gleams from the weapon and when Khellek strikes the creature a illusory silver brand again appears over the creature, guiding the warforged, Basher7, in its attacks.

A couple things:
1) You're right, Khellk will be the laughing stock of the group now as he his 'heroics' put Elerose in danger, well unless Lou listened to my advice and target ony the kobold with the 'wave ;)
2) Man alive... waking up in the middle of the night feedings sucks :(

Elerosse's Eladrin blood takes control over his wizard training and he draws his longsword and slashes open the belly of the kobold minion facing him. The minion is instantly completely disabled, but dies slowly, falling first to his knees, and then into a pool of entrails, whimpering softly.

Khellek, seeing that Elerosse has the situation well in-hand, moves back to the south to assist Basher7 with the Kobold Dragonshield that he is battling. Both Basher7 and Khellek attack the same Dragonshield. Khellek, indeed, connects with his attack (-10hp), but Basher7 goes beyond just "connecting" and tries to drive the scaly bugger into the ground with his mighty Craghammer! (Oddly though Basher7 only does 9hp of damage. Who knew?)

Tarrk again has trouble connecting with the Dragonshield that he faces, but Aimhirghin is at least able to grant the minotaur some healing (Healing Surge +4)

OOC: Isn't it great to have 2 party members who are healers??!! (But, Mowgli, there may well be times when you'll want to think at least twice before healing Tarrk, because sometimes Barbarians are far more scary foes when they're bloodied!)
