Aimhirghin

OOC: Sweet!

IC:

Assuming we take a short rest, Aimhirghin strokes and taps a gentle rhythm on his drum (Song of Rest - anyone spending a Healing Surge during the brief rest gains back an additional +4 HP).

OOC: Yes, a short rest would be in order, I think. And we can think about how the loss of Tarrk affects us as well. Hmm, WD was a late addition, so it probably shouldn't matter much. We'll just write Tarrk out of the story and pretend that he was never here. That's what I already did as far as the xp award is concerned. ;)

His breath coming in shallow bursts after the viscious battle, Khellek will wipe any kobold blood on the body of one of the fallen enemies and sheathe the longsword. He tosses a quick smile over to Aimhirghin, and looks around appreciatively at the others. "Well, let's hope we can always be so fortunate after a battle" the shifter says jovially, looking around at the relatively unscathed individuals.

While they are resting their tired bodies, Khellek will offer Selune's blessing on anyone who needs it.

I notice you had Manny as your title in the last post

[sblock=OOC]
Khellek will spend 1 surge to be at full hp. Can use his Healing Word before we rest to gain +1d6 hp + your surge value, although I don't think it's needed.

I've put the loot in the RG, along with a link to the post it is contained. We don't have Scott D around here to help this time.

Aimhirghin Maolán

Aimhirghin gives Khellek a slap on the shoulder.

"Thanks for saving my bacon back there. I get caught up in the 'big picture' and sometimes lose sight of the problem right in front of my face."

Basher7

The Warforged stalks about with his hammer at the ready for a moment after the last foe drops. Then confident the threat is over his begins to settle down. "I believe this encounter suggests that the rumors of troubles in the area are true. For such a band of Kobolds to be using the road in broad daylight this way is most troubling." After helping to gather the treasure and heaping the fallen Kobolds in a pile at the side of the road, Basher7 pauses to rest and consider.

The party searches the bodies of the kobolds and resumes resting, which is what you were doing when you saw the approching kobolds. After a few moments more, you all decide that it is time you were getting on to Winterhaven.

Elerosse (Eladrin Wizard)

As the party reforms to search the dead and scout for more enemoes, Elerosse stays close to at least one of the others so as not to be taken by surprise in isolation. "We did well for a disorganized group with no knowledge of the other's tactics in battle. I appreciate your moving to see to my safety, Khellek." Elerosse smiles. "I must learn to use my spells to repulse attackers without injuring any of you at the same time.

"I agree, Basher7, and if kobolds are freely roaming, we will have other opportunities to practice our group combat techniques."

Basher7

Basher7 steps back onto the road and waits for the group to assemble before starting toward Winterhaven. "I believe you are correct. More opportunities to practice war craft will be presented to us. I am honored to fight along side you all."

Winterhaven

The rutted King's Road leads to the foot of a broad hill that holds the walled village of Winterhaven. The village is nestled in the southern foothills of the Cairngorn Peaks. The walls of Winterhaven are weathered stone topped by defensive palisades.

Small, thatched homes stand around Winterhaven, each fronting a small piece of farmland or pasture. Beyond the farms to the west and south lie dark woods, and, to the north, tall mountain peaks. As you approach the gates to the village, you see a sign that reads "Lord Padraig Welcomes You to Winterhaven." Most of the people that you see are humans, with a scattering of Dwarves among them, and a handful of other races, including a few elves. There are two guards on duty at the gate. They nod amiably, acknowledging you, and, correctly surmising that you are travelers, direct you to Wrafton's Inn, which is the first building that you see inside the gate.
