Leif's Homebrew 4E D&D Game, nee 'Leif's Keep on the Shadowfell' [IC #1] [FULL]

Basher7

"Hmm, your tactics are sound. I scouting foray seems warranted. Based on the map, this keep seems to be over 5 miles away. We should be able to take the road at least most of the way there in the interest of speed."

Elerosse

Having been in quiet seclusion for a time, while his friends looked around and prayed, Elerosse returns to the group looking much the same. ;)

Upon hearing the plan to take the road most of the way, he agrees, "It will mask our true destination until we make our move off-road."

OOC: ready for action with Shield as his new level 2 spell. Featherfall is available as the alternative. And the next time someone is in the way of an area effect, he can slide that person 3 squares out of the way. :)

Moving to the Keep

The party sets off up the road. You reach a point about two miles from where the keep should be. Will you go further up the road, or do you have other plans? No encounters to this point, sorry, Dad.

Tarrk

"If we don't want to take the road, we cannot take the direct way. So maybe we encounter something dangerous in the Cairngorm Peaks. Good for telling a legend. But we shouldn't avoid the road out of fear. We will have to fight there anyway. If we sneak by the first enemies an others raise an alarm, we will only be flanked. Better we take this heads on. We can always go hunting in the Peaks, later." Tarrk muses loud.

Presumptive Marching Order? correct as necessary....

.........Tarrk Bloodhoof.....Basher7....Khellek.......Ghraere Elysialls, Elf Ranger

......Elerosse the Eladrin Wizard.....Aimhirghin Maolán

OOC: If I might suggest -- I'd move Khellek back to the second rank, scoot Ghraere to the middle of the front rank, and put Tarrk on the right end of rank #1. But, hey, that's just me.... and the Ranger might get claustrophobic in the middle of a rank....

OOC: Note please, Ozy, that Graere's entry in the RG says "Ghaere", but the attached sheet has the R restored to its proper place. :)

OOC: And renau1g leads the race for the most entries in the RG with THREE! And you thought that there wasn't enough of Khellek to go around! :)

OOC: You don't have any beasts of burden do you?? Well, other than Tarrk, I mean... :D (Oh yeah, he's a bull-man, not a cowgirl!)

OOC: it's a good thing I did that map when I did! My comp has now gone all screwy again (it says MS Excel is infected? Minotaur sh**!), and I can't open a spreadsheet to see the silly thing! Scotley, I'd sure appreciate it if you could send me a copy of the map in an email, preferably as in-line data, not an attachment, but that may be asking too much, eh?

OOC: So, Tarrk, the wise Minotaur has counseled that you should just stroll right along the road and knock softly upon the front gate of the keep. (Awfully polite for a barbarian, isn't he?) Is that still the plan?

"I work best from a position where I can see the entire field . . . last rank is probably the best place for me."

[sblock=OOC]Aimhirghin is not in favor of boldly striding up to the gate - just the opposite as expressed before - but will bow to the will of the group in most all cases where strategy is concerned.

PS - Nice work on the map, Leif.[/sblock]
