But, hey! Why don't we mention Scott DeWar in a bunch of 4E threads as punishment for his denial of the new edition? :D

I cannot access it myself, but personally hate the premise. I never liked the old magic system and it was the main reason why some low level spells made any skill based character obsolete.

Does anyone have any comments on the CS article on the front page today?
I looked at it, but it's too involved for me to form much of an opinion on the idea without spending a few hours going over the details of the Vancian Mage. I'm not likely to do that, either. :p So, I have to say that, while it seems like a pretty decent idea, and they may have actually pulled it off somewhat, it's just too labor-intensive to read all of that junk right now. Maybe next year?? :)

You know, Lou, I guess if you want you can use either form of Magic Missile, either the one from the 4E PH or the one from Heroes of the Fallen Lands ["HFL"] that I just quoted for you in IC post #206, and copied for you here, too. ;) I have no problem if you use one version some of the time, and the other version other times, because sometimes you'll want the option of inflicting somewhat higher damage, and sometimes you just want a guaranteed hit. You'll just need to tell me which one you're using BEFORE you roll the damage or the attack. Now, I'm opening myself up for some fudging here, but you of all people wouldn't do me like that, would you? :D

[sblock=magic missile for Lou]
Heroes of the Fallen Lands said:
"A glowing blue bolt of magical energy hurtles from your finger and unerringly strikes your target.
At-Will * Arcane, Evocation, Force, Implement
Standard Action**********Ranged 20
Target:
one creature
Effect: 2 + Int Mod damage
L11: 3 + Int Mod damage
L21: 5 + Int Mod damage
Special: If the Implement used with this power as an enchantment bonus, add that bonus to the damage. In addition, you can use this power as a ranged basic attack.

Anyone else can comment on this ruling, too. Is it cool with everybody?
