Lets go over what the Manyshot feat actually grants...

You can move and shoot multiple arrows! That's really great.

All right that is a good point. Moving 30' and shooting, pretty handy. Come to thinkof it, in my last game it would have been useful.

Actually I can only see it the one way, without the cumulative penalties mentioned by Andy.

You have to infer that the penalty for one extra arrow applies to all extra arrows.

Crothian! I'm nearly insulted! Or at least, I would be, if I gave a damn. ;) :p

That was a general statement about the boards, it was not aimed at you. But I'm sure you've seen it as well.

So, does Epic Attack bonus stack with Base Attack Bonus for purposes of the Improved Manyshot feat?

So a 32 level fighter with an effective BAB of 26 would have a Improved Manyshot of 24/24/24/24/24/24 or if you go by the -2 per arrow thing 16/16/16/16/16/16 right? So if he had haste going for him it would be 24/24/24/24/24/24/24/24/24/24/24/24 or 16/16/16/16/16/16/16/16/16/16/16/16 going by the -2 per shot thing? HELL YEAH. Got to reconsider my Deepwood sniper build then.

Actually that 32nd level fighter's BAB will be +24/period. Thats 1 attack roll for 6 simultaneous arrows. Also note, a character with the deflection feat can deflect all 6 arrows in one deflection attempt.

Except that, as Geoff mentioned, with Haste you'll be able to attack at +12/+12/+12/+12/+12/+12/+12/+12, since since it is a standard action the free partial action from Haste allows a whole new round of attacks.

Hmmm....8 attacks per round....

Again, this would be 2 attacks per round +12/+12, each attack roll representing 4 arrows each. Here, a successful deflection attempt will deflect 1 set of 4 arrows.

Got to consider those Monks and Duelists with Reflect Arrows and Infinite Deflection (HELL YEAH); 2 moderately easy reflex rolls (for an epic monk at least) and you'll have 12 arrows on a return trajectory.

At some point Manyshot (or Improved, rather) just gets goofy. "You have how many arrows nocked on your bow at once?" I can figure up to 4 and past that I have no idea how you get them to pull back when you draw the bow. Or even stay on the bow for that matter.

Then again, I suppose it's no goofier than being able to balance on a cloud. What does it say about me that I'm more willing to accept the latter than the former?

I think I might alter Improved Manyshot to just let you use Manyshot with the interative attacks of your BAB as a full action (and use Andy's -2 per arrow penalty for both feats). Then you could do +12(x4)/+7(x4)/+2(x4)/-3(x4) at 20th level, and on up from there.

(I suppose this branch of the thread really ought to go in House Rules now.)

And your point? I think you took my post out of context. :)
