Lets go over what the Manyshot feat actually grants...

Explain to me why this is better than point blank shot and rapid shot.

Just that its a standard action not a full round.

But if you have a favorite enemy or sneak attack you get them on both shots with PBS and RS.

Taking the full round action is totally worth it.

You can move and shoot multiple arrows! That's really great.

It gives you a choice,

Shoot lots of arrows at different people with less and less chance to hit,

Or,

Shoot lots of arrows at ONE person, with your best chance to hit.

Good vs. Dragons, not good vs. multiple foes.

Like many options is is not the best all the time. However, in certain instances it is the best. As people have said Shot on the Run with this would be awsome. I wish I could redo my ranger and build him for that combo.

Ever been Slowed? It sucks. But if you can fire off 4 to 6 arrows with a partial action (which is the same as a standard action minus a move), then more power to you.

That wasn't a clarification. That was an after-thought by Andy Collins on his website.

Reading just the feat, I can see how it could be seen either way. Granted, most people only see things the powerful way. But clarification or afterthought, call it a duck for unless it's errata few care. :(

Actually I can only see it the one way, without the cumulative penalties mentioned by Andy.

Crothian! I'm nearly insulted! Or at least, I would be, if I gave a damn. ;) :p

No, no. It's not like that with me. I merely disregard Andy's afterthought because I don't see the problem that he does. That's all. I'm not the type that must have errata to change a rule, mostly because I have that pesky free will thing goin' on. :)
