Round 153: Paul feels pain in his brain (Rolled 15 Will save against DC 18; good thing for Ki'' that we are using spell rolls for psionics) - 7 points worth. Paul is at 7 HP.
Paul bellows, advances, and bites (rolled 21) for 6 (a bite is considered bludgeoning, as well as piercing and slashing). Ki'Ji'Kl is at 27 HP.

Round 154: Paul resists the brain jab, but his bite bounces off of Ki'''s crystalline exterior.

Round 155: Paul takes 16 points of brain damage, and is dying. Ki'Ji'Kl is at 60N40E.
A small gray blob rolls into the arena to 60N100E. Go ahead, Ki'Ji'Kl, and remember the range of your mental powers.

Ki'ji'kl scutters forward and bends its crystalline mind to attack the blob. Soon it will learn if the blob has a mind to attack at all...

(MEA to 60N70E, Std to Mind Thrust at the blob)

(yeah, the short range mind thrust is an issue)

OOC I messed up, because the ray is a full-round action, so the blob could not ready it. I hoped to fix it before you read my mistake. Sorry about scaring you so much, Greybar. Here is what really happened (using completely new rolls to be fair):

Round 155: As Ki'Ji'Kl gets to 60N70E, it blasts the blob's brain (rolled 10 on Will save vs. DC of 21) for 18 points of damage. The blob is at -9 and dying.
Round 156: A small winged humanoid that appears to be on fire (or made of fire) flies into the arena at very low elevation to 60N110E, and fires a flaming ray at Ki'Ji'Kl, hitting (rolled 21 on range touch attack). The flaming ray has no effect on Ki'Ji'Kl. The humanoid shrieks in frustration in a high-pitched voice. Go ahead, Ki'Ji'Kl.

OOC The DC was so low because spell rolls are used to determine the DC for psionic powers. The DC = 1d20 + power level + relevant ability score modifier.

As noted, they're using the variant DC rolls for psionics. The DC is d20 +modifier+level, not 10+modifier+level. It's a great rule for chaotic characters. :)

OOC: Gotcha. I misunderstood the earlier spells as psionics comment as being that it was using the flat system. Of course, Ki'Ji'Kl is lawful, so I should petition that he use the 10+stat+lvl system instead. :)

OOC: I do not think your petition will be successful, but it could not hurt. Remember to file it in triplicate. Also, I hope you notice my all-encompassing edit of my last post. It might make a little bit of a difference.

Ki'Ji'Kl precisely steps forward, coldly regarding the new opponent, and attempts to scramble its brain as well.

(MEA: step forward to 60N75E, Std: Mind Thrust on burning thing)

OOC: Once he's off the arena floor, we'll see if we can attack ink quills to three of Ki'Ji'Kl's claws so he can write the petition simultaneously. :)

Round 156: You were too far to Mind Thrust, so I will assume you ready one if Flame Boy gets closer.
Round 157: Flame boy concentrates, and another FB2 appears at 60N70E, clawing twice. One claw connects (rolled 23), but is useless against Ki'Ji'Kl's crystalline form (did not get through DR). Go ahead, Ki'Ji'Kl.

Ki'Ji'Kl sidesteps away from the new attacker, turning it's mental battering ram against the new target.

(5" step to 65N80E, then Mind Thrust against FB2)

(OOC: ah, I misread the range as +5/lvl instead of +5/2 lvls. My fault. Ki'Ji'Kl misjudged the range, I guess)

(OOC2: At Int6, the crysmal has a rudimentary intelligence, but I'm judging not enough to think that defeating the first creature would make the second go away.)
