LG vs. N: Lawful Good Victorious!

Ki'Ji'Kl moves to 45N55E in chase, then waits for the being to come in range.

(MEA 30", then readied attack... i.e. presumably draw)

OOC:
* In my opinion as player, he crysmal wasn't intelligent enough to make the distinction between summoned and sumoner, or else it would have gone after FM1 in the first place. This means that an intelligent opponent capable of summoning has a much greater power, true.
* The counter argument is that since the rules say:
If at any time during the combat between two monsters there are five consecutive rounds where neither monster has damaged the other, the combat is considered a draw.
... then FM2's damage might not be considered sufficient to postpone the draw either, so it would be a draw even earlier.
* The flight vs. grounded-with-no-ranged-attack is a separate matter that it sounds like they're encountering in other arenas as well.)
* These discussion should move to the Clubhouse so this arena can continue uncluttered. :)

Ready for the next one, boss!

OOC If a summoned monster damaged an opponent, I would not rule that any different than a fireball damaging an opponent. Both damaged the opponent as a result of something the combatant did, albeit one was indirect and the other direct.

Round 161: A vaguely goblinoid, winged humanoid enters the arena to 60N100E10Z. It smells like rotten eggs. It appears to be made of yello-orange, crumbling sandstone. It giggles in a high-pitched, yet oddly gravelly voice, "Does it smell in hear, or is it just me?"
Next for Lawful Good: Immersa the bronze dragon wyrmling (Draconomicon). If you do not have that book, use the MM with the following feats: Combat Expertise, Improved Initiative, and Power Attack. Her only knowledge skill is nature, which does not help to identify her opponent.

Immersa breezes in to 60N65E and lands, letting forth a line of lightning towards the winged humanoid. "It's you. Peeeuuuuuu".

(MEA, then breath weapon)

The bolt barely hits PU (rolled 16 on Ref save) for 1 point of damage. PU is at 15 HP. Immersa can breathe again in round 165.

Round 162: PU lands at 60N100E and says, "Take a whiff of this, then." PU gestures and Immersa is immersed in a bank of fog that smells worse than PU. Immersa fights off nausea (rolled 25 on Fort save).

"Yucky!" Immersa cries, and she heads straight up out of the cloud with a slight angle towards the mephit.

(MEA to 60N80E35Z, Readied attack if the mephit closes to attack)

(I'm not sure how big the cloud is, but I'm guessing this is big enough to put her out of it. If not, she'll continue up in Z until she does clear it.)

(The cloud has a 20 foot radius, centered at 60N65E, and a 20 foot height. Immersa has average maneuverability, so can only go up at a 60 degree angle (2 up for every 1 over).)
Immersa is at 60N80E30Z.

Round 163: PU flies up to 60N85E20Z, says, "Maybe you will enjoy this scent more than the last one," and breathes a cone of noxious vapor at Immersa. Immersa succombs to the vapors (rolled 9 on Fort save) and falls unconscious (this is not a sleep effect), then falls to the ground into the noxious cloud below. The fall jars Immersa back to consciousness, but she takes 11 points of damage from the sudden stop. She has 34 HP left. She withstands the stinky fog (rolled 24 Fort save). Immersa is prone, so it is a MEA to get up, and it is her go.

Immersa scrambles up to her feet and gets out of the gas (barely), spinning around to face PU as she comes to a stop.

(MEA: stand at 60N80E, MEA: move to 60N40E)

Pip claps his hands with glee. "Whee! This battle is much more fun than I thought it would be. And here I was thinking the dragon would have that stinky mephit down in under 12 seconds."

Immersa takes to the air and executes a wide counterclockwise spiral, rising as she goes. She ends up a wee bit higher than PU and circling towards him.

OOC:
Sorry for the delay.
Starting at 60N40E facing west, circling through 40N20E and 30N40E to end at 40N50E30Z facing NW. 75" of movement in the XY plane and +30" (costs 60") in the Z plane. I finally found the section on Tactical Aerial Movement in the SRD.

I'm going to look at the other arenas out of curiousity, where dragonlings are reporting to be dominating. I'm guessing that the combination of a flying opponent with a debilitating ranged magic attack may not have been hit by others.
