LG vs. N: Lawful Good Victorious!

FM2 gets mind blasted for 14 points of damage. FM2 has 2 HP left.

Round 158: FM2 moves to 60N75E, and its one successful attack does not penetrate DR. FM1 flies to 55N70E and breathes a cone of fire. Ki'Ji'Kl is not affected, but FM2 gets back 2 HP to get up to 4 HP. Go ahead.

Ki'Ji'Kl scuttles to 70N80E and projects its mind against the newer firey beast (FB2) again, sensing weakness.

(5" step, Mind Thrust FB2)

It resists (rolled 16 vs. DC 6).

Round 159: FM1 and FM2 flank Ki'Ji'Kl at 75N85E and 65N75E and miss with three claws (of course, the flanking does no good, but they do not know that). Go ahead.

Ki'Ji'Kl, pressed on all sides, remains as emotionless and crystalline as ever. It steps aside to 65N85E and projects its will against FM2 again.

(5" step, Mind Thrust FM2)

(OOC: Why do you say flanking wouldn't help them? Just that they don't have enough oomph to get thru the DR without a crit?)

OOC: Apparently paying attention to all of the types and subtype effects is the one thing I should learn from this. I remember when it's obvious things like Elder Earth Elementals fighting my PCs...

Ki'Ji'Kl blasts FM2 for 16 points of damage, and FM2 disappears.

Round 160: FM1, completely terrified and feeling helpless, flies up 50 feet to 30N40E. The battle is a draw if Ki'Ji'Kl cannot damage FM1 this round.

Sorry to keep butting in ;) -- Don't you mean, if Ki'Ji'Kl cannot damage FM1 for the next 5 rounds? Ki'Ji'Kl just killed an opponent. I also don't think FM1 can move that far unless he 'ran', provoking an AoO. Fire mephits have only average maneuverability. You might have been thinking about ice mephits who have perfect maneuverability.

Back to your regularly scheduled carnage. :)

Technically, FM2 is not an opponent, he is just window dressing with flames. Either FM1 or Ki'Ji'Kl need to be injured in the last four rounds, and that hasn't happened.

Maybe I missed something, but I thought FM2 was summoned. What you're suggesting now greatly devalues the need to fight with summoned monsters. Actually, it totally negates it. Despite the apparent desire for FM1 to obtain a draw, it was really against the crysmal's desire to fight with FM2 at all. Every monster in every battle from now on should just totally ignore every summoned monster/ally because by fighting with them, you actually could cause a draw. I really doubt the crysmal would even bother attacking FM2 if he knew this additional rule in the combat.
