LG vs. N: Lawful Good Victorious!

Saladar does not quite penetrate the clouds skin (rolled 20-2=18 for PA).

Round 189: Cloud misses, Saladar hits for 11. The cloud has 9 HP remaining.
Round 190: Cloud hits for 4, but Saladar absorbs all of the damage, taking none. PU2 breathes at Saladar, who falls unconscious (rolled 10 Fort save).
Round 191: The cloud tries a coup-de-grace, hitting for 6-5=1. Saladar survives the c-d-g (rolled 16 Fort save). PU2 takes a 5-foot step to65N20E and claws twice (rolling 15, 15) for 6. Saladar has 0 HP remaining, and wakes up from the assault. Will he get up and provoke AoO's from his opponents prior to taking one last swing, or will he take one last swing at -4 from a prone position, or will he get up and hope they do not hit him?

The swing goes over PU2's head (rolled 13-4=9 for prone). Saladar is at -1 and dying.

Round 192: The cloud flies straight up to 60N20E50Z and turns into a 30-foot high cyclone. PU2 flies up to 100N20E20Z.

Next in round 192 for Lawful Good is a celestial lion (MM).

The shining golden lion advances to 20N20E and awaits the flying creatures.

(MEA, Readied attack action on anything that comes in reach)

Round 193: The cyclone dissipates back into cloud form. PU2 comes back to 30N30E25Z.
Round 194: The cloud comes down to 25N20E5Z to attack the lion, who misses on the readied attack (rolled 15), but hits on the AoO (rolled 20) for 8. The cloud is at 18 HP. The cloud hits (rolled 15), but does not damage the lion. The cloud flies back up to 25N20E20Z. PU2 lands at 30N20 and breathes at the lion, who resists the vapors (rolled 23 Fort save).

The lion brings its size, claws, and terrible teeth to bear on PU2.

(PU2 is adjacent to the lion, right, since the lions square goes from 20N20E to 25N25E?)

(Full Attack. If the bite lands, he will certainly begin the Improved Grapple and hope to get Rake attacks in as well.)

(Yes, they are adjacent, although that is not what PU2 intended. Someday I will learn to do this grid thing correctly.)

The lion hits with both claws (rolled 20, 18), but missed with bite (rolled 17) for 16 points of damage. PU2 has 4 HP remaining.

Round 195: PU2 withdraws to 50N20E20Z. The cloud zips down and hits the lion (rolled 24) for no damage, then zips straight up to 25N20E40Z. The lion misses on his AoO (rolled 18). PU2 and the cloud are not going to come back down and will wait for the draw. PU2 ends up at 40N40E30Z, travelling westward.

Round 197: A troglodyte-sized toad hops into the arena to 60N60E. It appears to be waiting patiently for the next Lawful Good creature, which is a noctral (Creature Catalog).

The noctral enters at 0N0E and takes to the wing, rising to 40N10E20Z before vanishing.

(MEA, then use invisibility)

(So, what time of day is it?
Also, what does the noctral's immense knowledge tell it about its opponent?)

(It has knowledge (dungeoneering, nature, and religion) in addition to those listed. It knows more than anyone really can about its opponent. It knows it is a dire toad, has all the animal traits, a poisonous bite that damages Constitution, it can grab small or smaller opponents with its tongue or bite, and it can swallow small or smaller opponents whole. The time of day does not matter in the arena - no one gets any bonuses or penalties from the amount of light in the arena.)

Round 198: The toad hops to 40N10E.

The noctral suddenly appears atop the toad, one claw angling down at it.

(MEA dive down to 40N10E5Z, Attack w/claw)

(I would try the Wingover/Flyby, but since the Toad is right below me I guess I can't really do that.)
