Logic question with Vader/ Anikin (EP 3 spoiler)

O.k. that's one thing, but do you have any idea how much he keeps up on these things in general? i.e. hae you seen any definitive comments on whether he stays apprised of what's going on in EU products? Based on the acknoledgements in pretty much every novel it's clear there are people at Lucasfilm, who aren't Lucas, who actually keep track of these things.

The approval thing is usually done by the Licensing deparment, though major things(Don't kill Luke) sometimes get run by Lucas himself. That's not all too common, though.

Whether he keeps up with the novels or not, or how well he does, I can't say. Only thing I've ever seen that's definitely true is that he keeps up with and enjoys the comics. If he didn't, we wouldn't have gotten Aayla Secura in the movies. :)

Huh, that's interesting. I guess comics are just short enough that the time investment is too great to be a problem.

So, was Aayla created for the comics (a female Twi'lek, how can you go wrong!), or did they just make her popular enough to bring back.

Aayla was created for the comics and Lucas loved her look. So, he quickly got her into AotC at the last moment.

Well Qui-gon managed it on his own, no reason the allegedly more powerful in the force Anakin couldn't, especially with the lure of his son and some potential help from Yoda and Obi-wan. All told now it does seem rather odd, also begs the question of why Gui-gon didn't show up (is that explained in one of the books, simple yes or no please, no elaboration wanted).
If you mean "Why doesn't Qui-Gon show up at the end of Jedi", that's easy. The ones who do show up are all connected to Luke: Obi-Wan and Yoda were his mentors, and Anakin was his father. Luke doesn't have any connection to Qui-Gon.

There's a difference between Sith Spirits and the normal Force Ghosts. Essentially, Sith Spirits are tied to a single place for eternity. Force Ghosts, on the other hand, become one with the Force while retaining their own individual identity, so are much more mobile and aren't stuck in one spot.

But, by the time of the movies, the whole Sith Spirit thing is long, long lost anyway. :)

I think "Force Ghosts" are tied to people, as upposed to Sith Spirits, which are tied to places.

Think about it, it makes sense that way.

I always Vader learned the trick on his own, intrigued by seeing Obi-Wan do it on the Death Star.

Given that Palpatine did not have the secret to perserve life, and that Anakin always had some resentment against Obi-Wan, I could easily see Vader trying to unravel the trick.

Its implied that Palpatine knew a method to create life. He "implies" his master was able to do it. So we can assume he learned how, or at least knew the method.

Its possible Palpatine knew how to become a Sith Ghost...........actually I hav eno idea where i'm going with this particular thought except that I dont see why Vader couldnt have trained himself in it one way or another.

Except that he says both that Plagus apprentice(which me may or may not have been) learned EVERYTHING. So, but that telling, if Palpy is the apprentice, then yes he knows.

HOWEVER, he then tells Anakin that no, he doesn't know how, but he will try to find out.

And really...its Palpatine. You can't trust a word that comes out of his mouth.

No politics on this board, please. If you feel the need to verbally attack the emperor, go somewhere else.

:p
