Looks like that might be Fizban himself in that first pic, casting his protective spell before the dragon's unleash chaos with their breath weapons.
 


DIno riders were awesome but was it ever more then just the piolit episode
There was a series, but I don't know how many episodes there were. Absolutely kicking myself for not picking up the DVD of the series, the one time I found it in a cheap newsagency, back in that bygone era where 'quick buck from DVD transfer of old cartoon shows' was a thing you could find

mind Dino Riders' jam was the toyline.

Just looked it up, it only had 14 episodes. So many cool cartoons from my childhood that I've forgotten and then someone brings something up and it's amazing how much I remember.
