Looking For A Campaign Setting

Let's make this simple.

Just email me and I'll send you an online coupon so you can order the Kingdoms of Kalamar campaign setting sourcebook off our website for free. You'll just have to pay shipping and handling.

Okay. My work here is done. ;)

Oh! Did I mention that the people at Kenzer, who made Kalamar, are great people?

BTW, I'm jealous! Can't complain much, since I did get my Kalamar stuff from someone idiotic enough to essentially throw them away!! But I am still jealous!

Weird, I thought the Scarred Lands had a city standing around a skyscraper sized golem and another city full of necromancers and undead.

Two cities. Out of the expanse of an entire continent. With a second continent as part of the setting.

Yeah, that's high magic.

Excellent!

I really need to look through all my Kalamar stuff more closely. Oh and if the adventures I was missing were available as PDFs, I'd snatch them up today. :)

Yeah, that's high magic.

Apparently they're not counting the city of ruins (Lokil), the City of Law (Hedrad), or even the city of sin (Shelzar). Course there are others but those are my favorites. ;)

Cats,

I think DTRRPG.com or RPGnow.com has them in PDFs. Confirm or deny Mark?

I would vote for Ryan Smalley's Valus but there is only one (very good) adventure and it does not appear there will be anymore. Note that Valus is mostly self-contained as Gro mentioned.

Sounds like you received an excellent offer to try the Kalamar waters - enjoy ;)

I love Iron Heroes dearly, but it is not "low power". Even "low magic" is a dubious claim (the PCs don't get much, but monsters are unchanged). Also, it's a new game, not a new setting: it changes lots of rules, has no psionics and has very minimal setting notes. So it is inappropriate for the OP's needs.

WHAT?!?

The OP wanted to play with little or no prep. GH isn't extremely detailed, which may have been the reason most people didn't suggest it. That's the reason I didn't.

That's really one of GH's strengths as a setting. If you're interested in detail-light, you can play with just the D&D Gaz (aka, the AD&D Greyhawk Folio for 3.x); if you're interested in crunch-free detail, you can use the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer (no stats); if you're interested in modules, you can create your own or purchase any of the innumerable AD&D and 2e modules in .pdf format from various online resoures; if you're really interested in the nitty gritty, detailed FR-like approach to a campaign setting, you can vist the various fan sites like Canonfire!, Harvester's Heroes, etc. for the nuanced differences between authors/editions/eras of Greyhawk lore. That flexibility is a nice benefit, that lets you easily customize the game to your needs.

Valus, per pogre's comment, does have a 4-part adventure module, as well as the core regional sourcebook, too; the module is Return of Ippizicus Child-Eater.
