Hey, has anybody created or come across any good homebrew rules for feats, powers, and/or classes that build off the 4e Grab mechanic?
Here is why I'm looking. I have a 3.5 monk character I'd like to convert over to 4e. He is a strong guy who took the various improved grapple options from 3.5 and loved to grapple foes in combat.
I actually think the best fit for this character in 4e would be a grab/grapple-focused Defender - in the 3.5 party that's pretty much the role he filled. It seems to me a Defender class built around grabbing would work great in 4e; however, no such class exists AFAIK. I've taken a few shots at creating one myself from scratch but have found it a very difficult task. I'm hoping that if I found the right set of extensions to the Grab rules, I could use that as a core around which to build this class.
Barring that, I'd at least like to find a few Grab options that could maybe be tacked onto the 4e monk when he comes out. (I'm assuming the 4e monk is going to be a striker and thus probably not too Grab-happy, though of course I could be mistaken there.)
