They have an organic body, but a sort of metal "sheath." They can select one of any number of sets of abilities, and can be Large, Medium, or Small. They recieve a +2 bonus to one ability, and -2 to another (unless it's Str, in which case it's +2/-2/-2).

EDIT: the .pdf's only $7; why not buy it? The combat systems in it are cool, too.

Could someone tell me about the Ironborn? I'm hoping they are better than the Warforged...

Better? Depends on what you are going for. The idea of customizable machine-people was mildly present in Eberron, but is really outdone by Book of Iron Might.

Their backgrounds are quite different, so it's all up to personal preference.

The Warforged I'd say are much more supported in the rest of the rules (spells, feats, etc.)

Thanks for the info.

I don't like PDF's. I prefer my gaming products in a paper form.

Same here, but it's really a pretty big drain on my cash to buy everything in print. So far I've gotten Beyond Countless Doorways, the BoIM, and a couple small .pdfs. Actually they kind of help my bad habit of reading too much, too fast. Prolonging the experience, as it were.

Sounds cool, and different enough to keep seperate from Warforged (though Im prefer the name Warforged ;) ). Though the concept probably would slip in Eberron w/o hassle. What kinda combat systems are there? (to derail this thread a bit, eh? :) )

Should be out in paper form in a month or two I'd bet.... Fascinating book.

I plan on picking up a copy as soon as it sees print. The Ironborn sound more what I had in mind for a construct "race"...
