Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

[sblock=Tomalak & Renau1g]
I PMed Ghdeh1 to let him know Jehad will be NPC'd until he returns to the thread.
Tomalak, if you do not mind, could you keep posting for Jehad until we hear otherwise from Ghdeh1. I feel its only fair to the other players to keep the game moving along, and as we have not heard from Ghdeh1 since Jan 14 I feel comfortable assigning his character to NPC status till he returns. I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes or breaking pbp protocol with this decision. Renau1g please let me know if I should not be making this call. Otherwise Tomalak, it's your turn(s)

Another bolt of brightly colored *zap* speeds through the crowd, this one passing through the alleyway and disappearing into the night.
Gellan, for a moment the dark alleyway, the smells of battle, and the pain in your limbs fades into irrelevance, and you remember thoughts of home. You are young, a child, and safe. A favorite authority figure is there, smiling their encouragement. Then just as quickly you are back in the alleyway, but the feeling does not so quickly fade, and you feel the strength of home and familial love supporting you.

[sblock=Jehad's Actions]Move: Walk to P6
Standard: Chaos Bolt vs. Dog @ M9 (1d20+5=8) that's a miss.[/sblock]
[sblock=Minharath's Actions]Move: Walk to R5
Standard: Heal check to prevent the goblin from dying (If possible, it was a viciously savaged minion...) 19
Minor: Use Healing Word on Gellan, healing him for 15

Again Zharne lunges at the goblin and rakes the goblins face with his claws then he climbs the wooden crates with unsteady paws and moves closer to the building.

"You will harm my companions over my death body!" shouts Gloom. He tells that with a strange conviction in his voice. It doesn't sound like a challenge, but like a fact of life like the sky is blue. After that, Gloom close on the wounded dog and strike at him, but miss it.

Fighting back the pain of yet another deep bite, Thorn retaliates. He slashes at the guard dog in a frenzy of jabs. The sharp point bites deeply into the dog.

"Graah!" snarls Gellan as the burly human's mace slips past his guard. With a feral grin, he draws out his second tan'gat, then holds the pair of weapons before him in a stylized pose. The halfling takes a deep breath, then explodes in a flurry of movement, diving to one side to slap the wounded dog alongside its head, dropping it in a senseless heap. Without a pause, Gellan rolls to a new position, finishing his move with a slash at the same human that attacked him.

Minharath rushes to the goblin, but quickly realizes that the poor creature is beyond saving, its lifeblood poring out from the vicious claw marks across its face and neck, one of which hit an all too important artery.

The Halfling moves to the edge to the roof and hits Jehad with his sling.

The goblin with the crossbow moves to a better vantage point and fires at the groups lone raged threat, Jehad. The bolt hits him squarely in the chest with a sickening thud.

Raj takes a swing at Thorn and misses and then cautiously steps to the side.

The remaining dog circles around Thorn and snaps at his heels, his teeth catching only air.

Wendel takes a step to the side and answers Glooms challenge with a flying dagger. Unfortunately for him the dagger flew wide of its target.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Did Guard Dog 2 and Raj both got 5 damage from Divine Sanction? Because status doesn't reflect that.[/SBLOCK]

Gloom activate the power of his sword, which urge his instinct to come up, which he release before charging the guard dog, which get a serious wound from his blade. Now the dog cannot ignore Gloom.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Minor: Bloodfury Longsword: I'm considered bloodied UEoNT.
Minor: Longtooth Shifting (+2 damage, Regenerate 2 when bloodied)
Standard: Charge Guard Dog: Move to O7 and Ardent Strike (1d20+10=19, 1d8+7=14) Hit for 14 damage and under Divine Sanction[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=Banesfinger]Have Thorn take a swipe at the bald guy, Raj, and Combat Challenge him, then Gellan will slip by while he's marked and go mix it up with the other one + dog.[/sblock]

"STOP! Already one has died! End this before someone else goes needlessly into Lauto's realm!"
[sblock=DMDanW] I would like to see if there are any cues as to who outranks who amongst our opponents. Would you consider this a reasonable task using insight? If you do, here's my check:
(1d20+12=18)[/sblock]

[sblock=Velmont]
They did take the damage, but I see I missed it in the update. I'll have to correct that.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Minharath]
Ya I can go with the Insight check.
You catch Raj (the bald one) repeatedly glancing over at Wendel (bearded one) as if looking to follow his lead. Not a clear sign that the bearded man is "higher ranking", but its something...
[/sblock]

Now that one of the dogs is down, Thorn turns his attention to the bald man attacking him (Raj). His spear bends and almost buckles as it's point is forced into the man's midsection. Thorn lands a punishing blow.

[sblock=Actions]
Standard: Reaping Strike (at Will) against Raj.
1d20+7 (vs. AC)=24 -- at hit!
1d10+4 (damage)=14, reducing Raj to 23 HPs.

Free: Combat Challenge (at Will) against Raj. Effect: Raj is Marked. He suffers -2 to attacks not including Thorn. If Raj shifts or makes an attack against someone else, Thorn gets to make basic melee attack. Mark lasts until end of your next turn or marked by other.

Gellan grins fiercely as the bald human's attention is drawn by Thorn's spear. Dodging and weaving, he presses forward, his tan'gat whirling in a dizzying pattern. His movement ends with a double slash, striking both the bearded man and the remaining dog.

[sblock=Actions]Move: Walk to L-7, then to M-8. Raj can take an OA if he doesn't mind A) needing to hit a 21; B) getting smacked by Thorn again *grin*
Standard: Whirling Rend against Wendel; 1d20+6=24 hits. Wendel and the dog each take 10 damage.[/sblock]
