Round 8

Standing amidst the screams and strikes of furious battle, Minharath stands tall and serene, his eyes closed, his hands at his sides. Raising one hand close to him, plam up, he begins to whisper a prayer so quiet only his goddess can hear. A fire begins to form in his palm, a guttering tongue as a candle in the wind. Quickly it grows, spreading along his palm until it casts flickering shadows around him. Dropping his hand to his side, Minharath casts the lam to his own feet, where it catches the hem of his robe. The fire catches and burns strong and bright. Moving quickly up his body, the light becomes a steady beacon overwhelming all other sources of light in the room. The heat of the flame reaches out from Minharath, warming friends and enemies alike. Those who fight beside him, however, know that the flames cannot harm them. The comforting flame burns the shed blood, destroying even the gashes in their flesh, healing them body and soul. Even as Minharath stands unharmed in a pillar of flame, so do his allies find themselves without mark from the hard battles behind them.

Raising his hand before him again, Minharath calls the fire back to him. The light and heat do not diminish as the flame that does not consume coalesces into his palm. Now no larger than a child's ball, the light is nearly blinding. With a forceful motion, Minharath casts his arm forward, throwing the collected flame at L'Orin.

Gellan feels Minharath's healing magic wash over him and grins at the orc. "Bet you wish you had someone like that on your side, eh ugly?" In a flash, he steps past the orc to stab at the elf, catching the orc on a backswing and leaving him bleeding and unconscious on the floor.

"Thank the gods for Minharath." Thorn mutters as her healing flame washes over his wounds.
With a simple back-hand jab of his spear butt, Thorn smashes L'Orin in the nose, knocking him to the ground. Then he rushes to Gloom's aid.

Gloom stands up. He then stabs H'raken. "You shouldn't turn your back to an enemy."

Zharne moves around the table and pounces on H'raken

“Neither should you” Karl responds to Gloom. He then steps up and takes advantage of Glooms turned back, driving his axe down into Glooms shoulder, and then quickly steps back once again.

M’Orin loosens another arrow towards Gloom, this one burring itself into the door frame beside him. He then takes off running up the hallway.

H’raken then drives his sword into Gloom once again and calls out to Karl “Take him now!”, and with that Karl steps forward and slams into Gloom once more with his axe. H’raken then quickly steps away from the mighty shifter.

From out of the cavern opening steps the robed Goblin. He begins chanting and hoping around, and points his staff towards the group. A dark cloud appears, covering almost the whole side of the room. Although not too terribly thick, the cloud does impair your vision and irritates your eyes. Strangely enough the goblins allies do not seem bothered by the cloud.

[sblock=Mechanics]

MINHARATH - Standard: Healer's Mercy - Thorn, Gloom, and Gellan can each spend a healing surge and regain Surge Value + 9 hit points, leaving them at 24 (not bloodied), 18 (bloodied), and 19 (not bloodied) respectively.
Minor: Healing Word - Gloom can spend another healing surge and regain Surge Value + 10 hit points, putting him at 37/38 (not bloodied).
Action Point: Astral Seal against L'Orin (Reflex 15):1d20+7=19
L'Orin has a -2 to all defenses, heals the first of Minharath's allies to hit him for 10 hp, and has a cool thematic-only fire burning him without blackening his flesh or clothing. All until the end of Minharath's next turn.

Summary: Thorn spends 1 surge and is at 24

Gellan spends 1 surge and is at 19
No players are bloodied
Three 1's on healing, but at least I hit with the attack...

Feeling his instinct of survival coming back to him, he is enraged by all the pain he gets. "You'll go down first! Gellan turns, his eyes flaring in the darkness, and spots the robe-wearing goblin. "Hah, someone more my own size!" he snarls, and moves to intercept this new foe. His first swing is blocked by the goblin's staff, though, and Gellan lets out a howl of fury.

[sblock=OOC-Banesfinger]how about Thorn moves to flank with Gloom? yes, I mean move and I know that Thorn would provoke an OA but between reaping strike and Divine challenge H'raken would go down by that combo and also Thorn could take that the damage[/sblock]

Actually that wouldn't be enough.

H'raken was at 38. I just did 28 damage, so he has 10 left. As H'raken is under my Divine Sanction (not Divine Challenge), which mean he will take 5 damage by ignoring me, reducing H'raken to 5hp. Reaping Strike does 4 damage... that would leave H'raken to 1 hp. We need a hit.

If Thorn move it would have the advantage that the minimum damage on a hit would get rid of H'raken, at condition H'raken decide to take that AoO[/sblock]

[sblock=question]
Does my +2 damage for Longtooth shifting apply when I cause damage from a missed Reaping Strike? [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]
H’raken – Attacks Gloom with Triggering slash, hitting AC 24 for 9 damage. This triggers Karl to shift to K26 & attack Gloom, hitting AC 26 for 14 damage. H’raken then shifts to J23
Mind if I ask what this means? The bit about triggering Karl getting another turn?[/sblock]
