LOST; Season 3; Ep. 2

Syhid, I think he knows the island has spying devices but I think I would have been looking for a hatch on that dock. I would not be surprised to see him off on his own map quest after he drops Jin and Sun off at the camp. Yep, he knew the others had a boat from Sawyer, Jin and Micheal, he did not know Micheal took it, so should have planned for it.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with how easily the Others outwit/outmaneuver the Losties. They have to have some serious surveillance systems at their disposal to always make the right move to thwart the Losties.

Maybe I'm overanalyzing again, but I just don't see how they managed to get up to the dock and sailboat so easily. Seems to me that Sayid, Jin, or Sun should've heard or seen another boat approaching. And when the others escaped with the sailboat, that was the only boat we saw leaving.

And unless I'm mistaken, the legs of the Others looked dry when they were first seen boarding the sailboat. No wetsuits, so they didn't come out of the water. The dead blonde looked dry as well when she confronted Sun. And that dock was long and open. Where the hell did the Others come from that they were able to get to the boat without being discovered?

And why does it always take the Others an hour or less to reach any spot on the island while it takes the Losties forever to go from place to place?

Hmm. I'd assumed they'd come in from the water. But yeah, she was dry. A technical gaffe, or are the Others just like Jesus?

Maybe they have an underground train system. Ooh! Lost is DisneyWorld!

Heh. Way back in Season 1 when 'the monster' was still new, someone on the beach (for some reason I think it was a woman from New York) said that the noise the monster made sounded familiar, and I immediately thought "Subway!"

Thank you for reminding me of my crazy theory from 2 years back :)

It was all on the MAP, which Syhid has not seen, but I think he feels there are underground passages. All the stations were connected at one time but some have been blocked. I think he want to give the impression he is leaving and going back to camp.

Next question: The pearls...was Sun there?

With the pearls there I thought it could be Sun so when they were in the boat and the girl was saying you won't do it I was thinking, oh yes she will this is not the first time. I almost expected Sun to actually come out and say something along the lines of, I have killed before. Remember as well at the very begining in the flashback were Sun had the maid fired to cover her own but.

Argh. Another thing I just realized. two years into the show the writers decide to totally change this character with flashbacks. Up till now Sun has always been protrayed as a good and loving person even if she was afraid of Jin. Now however we learn she is willing to do whatever it takes to cover up mistakes, cheats on her husband (And the baby no posiibly is not Jin's) and is possibly a murderer. Just like JJ and Alias to change everything up and reboot, this is why I quit watching that show and why I will stop with this one at about exactly the same time.

I don't know, I thought he has more control over this one than Allis and that that reboot was network wanted changes to make the show more mainstream.

I liked the Red Sox winning the World series bit, that was one of the few times this show ever made me laugh out loud.
This was just awesome. A great moment in the entire series especially with Jack's background. It actually turns into quite a poignant moment in Jack's life because of his dad. His face said it all when Ben shows him the TV clip.

And Ben's facial expression when he didn't believe him actaully gave a lot of credence to Ben's story about being on the island his whole life too.

Great scene.

A mediocre episode that I didn't enjoy that much. I'm getting pretty annoyed at the Others, and secretly wished Kate would swing her mallet and take off the head of one (or more) of the bastards.

I only really enjoyed the last 5 minutes of the episode (TV and proof of some sort of outside world contact).

Word, man. Word.

I hope Jack has sense enough to realize that being able to receive satellite TV signals does not "contact with the outside" make.
I think he realizes it is at least limited, supply drops and communication.
