LOVE the New Covers!

Cover are there to sell books. We (enworlders) will evaluate the product and not be particularly swayed by the cover.

However there are a lot of people who will buy something if it has a cool cover. I think these covers are more mass market and if the Drizzt cover sells more FR settings then grovey, possibly more DND players around.

I'm thinking we just got our first glimpse of a dragonborn.

It looks sorta like the pictures of the dragonbron in the Races&Classes book that I'm reading at the moment.

But there is something about the head which is a bit strange at this picture size. If I squint a bit, I'm thinking it might be a wererat or something like that.

IMO, the head is reminiscent of the brass dragon (also a desert creature!).

Chalk me up as another voice calling for the switch of the covers between the PHB and the Character Record Sheets. Place the adventuring party doing battle on the main book and place the picture of the couple of PCs on the Record Sheets. What's a dragon doing on the Record Sheet cover anyway?

I love the fire giant picture.

I'm not a Drizzt fan. That said, I do like that particular picture of him. However; FR (to me at least) is more than just Drizzt. I don't care if Drizzt is on the cover, or even if he is featured on the cover but I want the cover to be more than just Drizzt. Have him leading a party of adventurers, have him be in battle in an exotic local. I just hope that there is more than the dark elf on the final version.

I personally liked the 3.x core book covers. Simple and less graphic intensive is definitely more my style. On the other hand, I understand why they're changing. This makes it much easier to distinguish between the editions.

What I don't understand is why, with all the focus and push toward Roles, they are designing covers with only one or two characters? Given the significance that they've been giving on the Roles of the party members, it seems to me that there should be at least 4 different characters on the cover of the PHB if nothing else. A defender, striker, controller, and leader. That seems pretty elementary to me.

I really like the covers of 4E's core books, including the white stripe on top with the D&D logo. Gives some "air" to the whole thing. Good job on the design (and the art, well, WAR... what can I say: I love his work).

The FRCS with Drizzt on the cover? No. I don't like that at all. I really like the 3E FRCS cover I must say.

We have enough time to change their minds. I prefer Elminster than Drizzt. It's like using Cheetah Girls Sabrina Bryan instead of Mickey Mouse to represent Disney.

C'mon, Hannah Montana, at least.
