Sighs. Great, I just realize we're going to need a change (or major overhaul) in iconic castings. I don't think Waterdeep's Piergieron(sp?) and his daughter Aleena will live.

No wonder I don't like MechWarrior: Dark Age universe.

I'm kind of torn. On the one hand they do look quite nice, the art is really good as always, but on the other hand I was a big fan of the fact that my DnD books looked like a pile of wizard's spellbooks in 3.x

Hehe personally I hated that, especially because of the pictures of fake gems/coloured glass!

Forgotten Realms had the best "tome-like" cover, since it avoided being ostentatious.

Bruenor wouldn't have to be. And there's always Wulfgar III.

Actually, that's kind of cool adventuring party concept. Some high-level elf taking on generations of the same human family as his apprentice and later adventuring partner. "Did I tell you about the time your great-grandfather killed three Ogres by himself?"

As for the covers:
The PHB sucks.
The FRCS is OK, but would be better as Drizzt et. al. approaching Silverymoon (it is a Setting book, after all, not just another RAS novel, so "the setting" should be on the cover).
The DMG, MM and Character Record sheets are all good.
The Hx covers are ... eh. I can't really say from the low res images.

Meta-comment: too many tieflings. There are eight races in the PHB, so use 'em.

The Grand History cover would have been perfect as the campaign guide cover, IMNSHO.

Makes me wonder what the DM's Guide cover is going to look like.

Worked nice in Lufia - albeit the elf was aged and not adventuring anymore. Kind of a wow meetign time though.

Wizards' page for Keep on the Shadowfell now has an even newer picture than the one on ENWorld's front page:

It has a different look than even the other adventures. I highly suspect that we are still seeing mockups on a lot of these pictures, and the final look is still being worked on.
