Malum... what're you gonna sunder? He's blasting you with Eldritch fire... not a bow.Malum said:2 words ranged sunder

According to the FAQ, Eldritch Blast can be used to damage objects, and is treated as normal damage for such purposes (halve the damage, then apply hardness). And yes, Baleful Utterance is a popular Least invocation, and will allow the warlock to attempt to sunder held non-magical weapons, though they will gain a saving throw.Malum said:Oh? I never used it before but I was thinking perhaps the EB of the Warlock could be used to sunder? I know they have that shatter like ability?
Certainly a workable one, assuming the warlock knows the party's strengths. But all characters should have some form of backup weapon, even if it's just a couple of throwable daggers, and a warlock's vulnerability is in lack of versatility - if this one's specialities happen to coincide with the party's weaknesses, then yes, he'll hurt them. The solution, from their viewpoint, is to change the circumstances, because the warlock will have trouble adapting. For instance, if he's got them trapped in a big cavern while he's near-unreachable on the roof, they can retreat under cover of obscuring mist and force him to confront them in tighter quarters.Malum said:That’s true, but in this specific scenario they had very limited ranged capability perhaps just 1 bowman, and 1 targeted dispel magic, so that’s why I thought it to be worth while "kill the bow" then ready action vs. the spellcaster to nail em' right as he/she casts.
Just a tactic my BBEG may choose given circumstance
