Aelspeth's arrow misses and breaks on the walls of the keep. A quick glance around shows her that she can even the odds, for herself and any other archer to provide cover fire, if she moves up the slope a short way and uses the wall of the slope as cover.
Autumn casts her
obscuring mist spell and is immediately surrounded by wispy vapor that blocks most sight. It spreads out from the druid enveloping her and her allies. After a brief move towards the cover of the side wall she emerges from the mist and sees that it hasn't gone as high as she thought it might but it will still do the job of masking Rak'tan as he climbs.
Rak'tan reaches the rope just after mist begins to swirl out from Autumn. It sweeps around the tiefling but that is good; it will prevent the kobolds from firing their crossbow at him. As Rak'tan grabs the rope and begins to climb it gives a little but then holds firm. A moment later he feels something drop down from above and some few land on him. As the things scuttle over his skin he realizes that they are scorpions.
Arradon had sight of the rope and their ally before he was engulfed in mist and so was able to take the few steps necessary to get it in range of his grasping arms. A moment after Rak'tan begins to climb Arradon hears something light fall nearby and then begin to scritch over the stones. He can't quite catch a glimpse of it in the mist.
The sound of the kobolds firing their crossbow is clearly heard though somewhat distorted by the mist. It is a wild shot and the bolt riccochets off a stone and spears into the ground with a thud. There is panicked muttering in faint Draconic as the kobolds begin reloading.
The scorpions on Rak'tan strike the flesh they are standing on. Rak'tan feels the minor sting of the attacks and the pumping of poison into his body.
Two scorpions at Arradon's feet scuttle closer to him; their movement leaves them open to Arradon's attack. Once within range the vermin strike at the elf. One strikes true and Arradon also feels the surge of poison into his body. The second stinger glances off his boot but doesn't pierce it like the first does.

Starlight Keep map This is my first time using Google Drawing as a mapping program so if you have hints or advice feel free to let me know. Also, let me know if the map isn't working for you for some reason.
First, my apologies to you all for being short with you earlier. Your understanding of the map/situation was better than mine and I didn't grasp what you were asking until you spelled in out for me in simple terms. Still, even with the best measurement on the slope and firing overhead you are five ft short to reach with a 15 ft cone.
Yes, Autumn can move towards cover. She'll have to go partway up the slope then around the edge to reach it. One more move should do it.
Climbing the rope is DC 15.
Effects: Obscuring Mist 19/20 rounds.
Note that obscuring mist centers on the caster and spreads out in a 20 ft radius. Unfortunately you can't cast it at a distance from yourself.
Rak'tan: hp 13 [2 non-lethal] Must make two DC 10 Fort saves 1/round for 6 rounds or be sickened for 1 round. One save cures.
Arradon: hp 18 [1 non-lethal] Must make a DC 10 Fort save 1/round for 6 rounds or be sickened for 1 round. One save cures.
Kobolds AC 15 (AC 19 cover); hp 5, 5, 5, 5
