[LPF] Don't Let It Go!

[sblock=GM Note]Yeah, I had to fix that typo on G7 to G6. No worries, I just needed to clear that up.

I did not really think this encounter was all that tough since the guards are all CR1. But with tripping and the PCs not having very high CMB, I guess that makes a huge difference in the opening exchange. Though, I had not expected to have two separate battles either since splitting the party is against one of the primary rules. :p

Btw, LMiller is busy with baseball and stuff, so expect him to go last for Yosephus anyway. I might have to post his actions for him.

Split the party? What would make you think I'd do that?

But seriously, the only person he recognized was Charity. He wasn't about to volunteer to stand in a circle of angry guards! Francis is a self-preservationist of the highest degree. If it came down him or them, unfortunately he will typically choose himself most of the time.

[/sblock]

[sblock=AOO's]If that is your interpretation, PM, then go ahead with any applicable AOO's on Charity. I don't want to overthink what a character who is making split-second decisions is doing.[/sblock]

Aishe Luminitse (Jaelle Nuri)
[section]

"Well, now you've gone and done it... We tried to settle this without bloodshed, but if you insist..." Aishe staggers from the guardsman's cowardly blow to her back, turning the stumble into a lunging advance as she draws blades and slips within the guard of... the guard.

[/section]

[sblock=Actions/Rolls]Move to AG4 (already taken care of on the map). Acrobatics roll takes care of AoOs from all concerned, but she didn't do well enough to avoid an AoO from the guard when she tries to move through his space. Not sure how you'll resolve that since his reach weapon keeps him from threatening, but this use of Acrobatics doesn't specify that the opponent be threatening. Just let me know. Either way, that's two move actions (drawing her knives as part of her second move) so she's done for the round.

(I'm guessing the guards made their saves against the thunderstone? I don't see anywhere they could drop it to affect all three of us that it wouldn't get at least one of them as well. Not that it matters - initiative is already taken care of, there likely aren't any perception checks remaining, and I doubt any of them are casters).[/sblock]

Yosephus stood up, waiting for the other two to draw attention from the guards first.

The cleric then cast a spell to add some divine protection. He said, “You guys attack them, I will heal you.”

Winter%20Guard%201_zpsjykpwvec.png

The guard with the guisarme missed Charity as she got up from the snow-packed ground, but the Captain managed to hit her armor with his sword for a ringing clang. He did it again after she was up off the ground. The blows were more annoying than painful. Charity managed to side-step the lame attempt by the guard to pull her off her feet again.

The guard facing Aishe backed up, but could not pull her feet out from under her again.

The two guards on the other side focused on pulling Yosephus back off his feet again. The first missed, but the second succeed and Yospehus was dumped on his butt again.

The shaken guard failed to do anything with his guisarme against the halfling, missing wildly.

Thunderstone radius is 10ft and it went off before the Captain closed in to Charity. All of the guards had 10ft separation from the center of your group.[/sblock]

[section]Francis John, III - Self-Proclaimed Prince of All Halflings

"Pig! Attack damn you!" The war pig gives an argumentative grunt, but concedes to the will of the halfling. Unfortunately he moves towards the guard with much less than the required enthusiasm, and unsuccessfully tries to gore the assailant.

Why do I always have to take care of everything myself? Francis takes out his shortsword as he stumbles across the alley to surround the guard. He takes a weak poke at him, sword flailing in the air wildly. "Garbly snooker-blatt!"

[sblock=OOC]Them rolls though! But serious question.... do I have to roll handle animal every turn now? Or does he keep doing that until I command him to stop? Never had an animal before.

Next question: Does the -2 on attack from Intimidate and a Hex stack?

Last: I've been getting notification emails from when anyone posts except Mowgli. Weird.[/sblock]

"Ermph." Aishe steps up as well, working to stay close to the guard to maintain her press. She makes a passing attack at the captain as she moves, then lunges at the guard... both attacks miss by a mile.

Charity, Human Female
Pursing her lips, Charity steps forward and gives the captain a scowl, then spears past him to join in on the attack against the guard Jaelle swung at. Although her strike delivered some force, the guard's armor held and the red-headed Venzan reeled back her weapon, clearly disappointed. "Almost..." she whispers under her breath.

Yosephus stayed on the ground, unable to keep his feet with the long reach of the guisarmes easily pulling him down again. Be without needing worry about being distracted, he called upon some divine energy and sent it radiating out to wash over his companions to heal some of the recent bruises.
