Zinnelis had to forgo his bow as the shadow closed quicker than he had anticipated. He freed one hand and went for his sword, slashing out at the shadow. He hoped their seeming solidity was real. He was happy to find that to be the case and retreated a step back toward Autumn.

He continues his defensive posture, wielding his dagger like a shield between himself and the shadow. Keeping his eyes glued to the shadow, he calls over his shoulder to Thane in a rather irritated tone. "Well? Out with it, revenant. What must be done?"

Levanna shivered as the specters materialized around the group. To her horror, she realized that two were on either side of her, putting her in a dangerous position. But she could not move and just abandon Etan to them either.

"Etan! Run!" she shouted. Perhaps she could get the pixie out of harm's way at least.

"Uvelucal hatob!" she said, thrusting the tip of her staff forward. A long green spike of sizzling magic shot from the orb at the specter to her right.

Compelled by Arradon and the magic of the candle, Thane answers: ”To awaken Tal Agynna you must travel to the Sisters’ Grove and petition for her awakening.”

The shadow shifts and avoids Rak’tan’s attack. It reaches out to retaliate and its shadowy limbs tighten on the tiefling’s flesh leaving bruises and an uneasy feeling in Rak’tan’s mind. The other shadow dances around Rak’tan. Its claws trail across his armor with an unpleasant scritching sound but does no injury to Rak’tan.

Autumn’s fire scorches the grass as it rolls towards the shadow. When it strikes the dark spirit greasy smoke burns away and the creature dies with a faint keening.

Zinnelis’ sword cuts across the dark spirit. There is a slight resistance then the blade slices through. Smoke pours from the wound and hovers in the air. The wounded spirit slides towards Zinnelis but Levanna’s acid reaches it before it can reach Zinnelis. The magic disrupts the shadow-spirit and it vanishes.

Etan takes an involuntary step away at Levanna’s urging but he halts and draws a tiny sword (you weren’t even aware he was carrying such a thing). He shakes his head. ”No, I stand with you!”

The smoke that poured from the wounded shadow-spirit roils and forms into another creature. It slides towards Levanna, then brushes her aside with one arm. The attack slams into her and leaves her reeling but still on her feet.

Etan screams and waves his sword wildly at the shadow-spirit that just attacked Levanna. He makes strange gestures with his other hand then touches her. A shield of force springs up between Levanna and the dark spirit.

The larger spirit facing Arradon bursts into motion. Shadowy claws grapple the rogue but Arradon’s defense is too solid for it to get a grasp.

GM: Round 2. Everyone is up!

FrancisJohn, I assume you’ve rolled the shadow’s Reflex save? If so, thanks. That makes things a little easier for me when I’m compiling the post. The rest of you should feel free to do the same (but you don’t have to).

BlueLotus, Etan casts Shield on Levanna. This should give her AC 20, I think, although she is currently staggered.

Autumn's heart sinks as she turns around to see Levanna nearly get felled. She motions forth the ball of flame as it singes the grass on the way to the offending shadow. The creature magically seems to move at of the way at the last second. Malcontent, she flings forth a burst of fire from her arm. In the dark, she cannot tell if she hit the shadow.
