Seros Animus
[section]

~ The downpour was enough to make Seros want to take his blade to his hair, just to cut it away from his eyes.
" And I thought Irthos knew what rain was," he spat, the water flowing in sheets off of his armored coat. The cord around his wrist that connected his body to his sword was removed: it was rather unnecessary here. Listening to Caius's plan, Seros thought on this. He was no engineer, but any soldier worth their salt in Rorn had some experience in digging, logging, building, and so on.
" We'll need to get the horses and cart over regardless, and I don't think we have any implements to cut through so much wood. Fire is also useless in this downpour," he noted, rubbing his chin thoughtfully through his gloves. His hand fell towards the holy symbol around his neck, and Seros closed his eyes.
Blessed Saints, help me see what my eyes are insufficient for.
After a brief moment, he had a better inclination of how to solve their problem.
" A ramp would be sufficient. We may be able to repurpose some of the planks on the cart to brace it better. If we've a spade or the like, we can shovel up some mud and dirt to make a hill and brace it further. We'd be best off unattaching the horses from the cart and pushing the cart up ourselves so we can lower it down on the other si--."
“Oy!” Fhanna called to the others. “We got us a bloke trapped under the tree, lads.”
That's all it took. Seros cut himself off and called upon the Firecast to put the strength into his arms and legs to scale the tree. However, it appeared such flames had no power in this storm: His foot caught a slippery patch of moss and sent him tumbling down to the ground.
" Gods' Blood!" he swore bitterly, throwing off his heavier coat and trying to pull himself up the trunk again. In his haste, Seros caught his other foot in a muddy puddle, sending his face hard into the bark. He pulled back in a daze, bleeding below his eye and feeling his cheekbone start to swell.
" Miserable Saints-blaste -- Hold on! I'm coming!" He called, willing himself to calm down.
Thinking before rushing into the unknown, Seros gathered up his coat and slipped it on again, before reaching into the pack he kept on the cart. Procuring a Grappling Hook and tying it off to the rope strapped to the side of the bag, Seros approached the tree trunk yet again. No fancy tricks or sudden springs into action: He simply tossed the hook over to the other side, away from where he had heard Fhanna's voice, and made sure it had caught something.
" Come on," he waved to his compatriots,
" Someone needs our help!" ~[/section]
