[section]Fhanna steps by Sylvain, brandishing her longspear as she brushes by. Another second later, the gored stirge falls to the swamp. Seros takes a few steps forward, taking a defensive position in front of the horses. His sword is at the ready, willing to strike any insect that approaches. Despite the torrid conditions of the heated bog, Drayvin finds the inspiration to sing to his fellow warriors. He confidently rides his horse into the muck and mire. Judging his sword to be rather ineffective, Sylvain stows it back away and procures his bow. Perhaps he will have better success with his new weapon of choice. Caius surveys the swamp for the incoming threats. He takes another shot, but alas it's aim is not true as the arrow gets lost in the deeps of Westerley.
The remaining bugs are undeterred and begin to swarm inwards. The stirge closest to Drayvin lands on his horse, drives his barbed legs into it's back, and inserts the proboscis into the skin. The horse whinnies in fear and pain. A pair of insects drive towards Caius. In the same manor as the one that attacked the horse, Caius feels the pain of the two stirges pierce his skin. Seros' act of defense worked to protect the horses, but maybe not so well for himself. The other pair nimbly evade the less-than-effective swipes of Seros's sword through the air. As Caius before him, the two stirges drive their poisonous nose into his soft flesh.

2. Screwy, your horse needs a handle animal check DC 10 to keep it from bucking you off. You can make this check untrained as it's DC 10 or less. Handling is a move action, so you can attack too if you'd like after the fact. If you fail the handle check, please roll for a ride check DC 15 to make a soft fall.
3. I am pretty sure that none of these horses are combat trained, but I will handwave that requirement or this encounter has the potential to get real silly real fast. (unless all of you strongly object of course.

4. If the stirges are attached, you may attack them normally. To break free you have to win an opposed grapple check or escape artist check.
5. Caius and Seros, please adjust your ministats for -2 CON.
6. If you guys get actions in before Friday morning, I can do one more combat update on Friday before the 2016 Holiday Slowdown.
7. Concerning Holiday Slowdown 2016, after Friday, my posting will be inconsistent at best until the first week of January.

Soft Fall: You negate damage when you fall off a mount. If you fail the Ride check, you take 1d6 points of damage and are prone. This usage does not take an action.
