Its already been said that had nothing to do with why the scene was cut. His own daughter was in that scene...and actually, so were most of the other Senators. It wasn't beacuse of the Playboy thing.

What are you talking about? Is this related to his old quote from years ago that the third of the new prequels will have the smallest gross? That hardly amounts to a prediction of "tanking" and he may very well be right. The Star Wars fans like us may like it better, but will the generic audience?

I used my own vernacular here Joshua but others have said what I think.. it's partially Lucas being self-depricating (which after Episode I and II might be earned) and part of him whining.

I'm just a bit tired of it all I guess.. even though I am anticipating the movie for just the reasons he seems to be saying that it will fail.

This is right up there with Georgie boy claiming all the critics hate him. Happens every time he puts out a movie, as said above.

Ah, yes. He seems to have always been that way about Star Wars for some reason. He never seemed to predict Raiders movies tanking that I know of, but he was always (supposedly) surprised by the success of the original Star Wars movie for some reason. I never got it.

Yeah, that's just the thing. I think it's pretty clear he's been out of touch with his fanbase for some time now. Either that, or he just has a completely different idea of what his fanbase is than I do. I think it'd be great if this is the prequel that really does well. It'd send a message. Then the question is, is he too dense to get it.

You know, I prefer the white robed Leia to the ROTJ slave Leia anyday.

It still amuses me that Georgie Boy had Carrie Fisher tape her boobs down for Episode 4 (but not in all scenes, apparently) but then goes with the slave girl look that launched a gazillion adolescent fantasies a few years later.
