First Post
I havent looked into this combo as of yet but the DM in last weeks game just destroyed 14th Fighter in 1 round with a multiple attack sneak attack from a Rogue / Lycanthrope tiger. He caused over 168 hit pionts because thats what I had !!!! Opinions of this combo please! Im Pi$$ed off. Anyone have experience with this? And what would it have to be in oder to cause that kind of dame in a round? (although I did see 1 20 rolled by the DM during the attack)

Assuming all average rolls and one crit on the best attack, a normal weretiger does 56 (11 each claw, 10 bite x 2, 7 each rake). Requiring an average of 168-56=112 extra damage would require 112/3.5=32d6 sneak attack, which is about 6.5 per weapon. Not unreasonable, but very very lucky. There clearly must be some strength enhancing items/spells, multiple crits, perhaps improved natural attack, or some base strength boosters (due to class levels).

Hmm, I'll have to try that in my game.

Maybe with Improved Natural Attack, Bull Strength, and one of those natural weapons amulets from Savage Species. Then give him a good hiding spot, or just make him invisible, and let him pounce some to death in the first round. What a great idea!

Thank you.

A weretiger rogue 9 is CR 13 and has a BAB of +10. Assuming a base Strength of 14 that increases to 26 in animal form, that's an attack bonus of +17 (-1 Large, +10 BAB, +8 Str).

Your typical 14th-level PC ought to have 150,000 gp of gear. Assuming he's invested in 26,650 gp in +5 plate mail, 18,000 gp in a +3 ring of deflection and another 18,000 gp in a +3 amulet of natural armor (total 62,650 gp, less than half his gear value), he should have a flat-footed AC of 29.

Ignoring criticals, the average damage that the weretiger will do on his bite, claw and rake attacks is 1d8+8 (claw) +1d8+8 (claw) +2d6+4 (bite) +1d8+4 (rake) +1d8+4 (rake) +15d6 (5 sneak attacks) = 105.5 hp.

However, the expected damage is only about 48 hp (45% of 105.5) because each attack only has a 45% chance of hitting an AC of 29.

If it was a weretiger rogue 11, it would be CR 15, and would have a BAB of +12, an attack bonus of +19, average damage of 123 hp and expected damage of about 68 hp.

My guess is, your character was either under-equipped for his level, or had lower than average AC for some other reason (a lightly armored swashbuckler-type character, for example), the weretiger had some attack-boosting equipment, such as a +2 amulet of mighty fists or a +4 belt of giant strength modified to fit tiger form, your DM rolled very well, or some combination of the above.

Note that weretigers already get Improved Natural Attack for claw and bite.

Holy Crap, thats an awesome combo.

Quick, someone lock this thread, then delete it, purge the forums, and wipe the memories of everyone taking part before someone I game with reads this.

At least until I convince my GM to let me run one of these. I can see the VoP going nicely with this :) (j/k)

Munchkin nirvana has just been achieved

Feegle Out

God I hate "And Then" monsters. "The tiger claws and claws and bites and rakes and rakes..."

Plus lycanthropes are waaay overpowered and I think the CRs need to be upped for things like weretigers.

There's also the possibility that the DM rolled one of the attacks twice. It happens every once in a while in a game, especially if the DM is tired.
