[M&M2E] Freedom League Unlimited (OOC)

AH.. but the simple fact of saving against something doesn't tell the CHARACTER that a power's being used on them, only the player. The way I understand it, as a mental sensory effect, Mind Reading is only noticeable to characters with an appropriate super-sense, such as mental awareness.

With the area effect - if you automatically hear everyone in the area, and can't filter it, that would make the effect completely useless.. You wouldn't be able to understand any of the thoughts if there were 2 dozen coming at you at the same time. Yet Area is a suggested extra for the power, and doesn't say you require any extra senses to comprehend what you're hearing, So is it
A: You can read any single target IN the area, or
B: You can read (And understand) ALL targets in the area? OR
C: You can read and understand any number of targets in the area (Selective)

Also, it's not 'constant'. It's a concentration based power, requireing conscious effort, so it's something you have to 'turn on'.
(Just for the record, what I'm going for with this particular power is the Telepaths from Babylon 5. They put up a 'wall' to prevent themselves from accidentally reading people around them, but when they open themselves up, they can hear all those nearby, and 'home in' on any one of them.)

It certainly does not work this way in Ultimate Power (edit: In UP it would work that way if you had the Subtle power feat).

I meant 'frequent'

Lets here it for the simple approach!

I note that she has a lot of gear she doesnt really know how to use. edit: okay maybe not a LOT
Also Freedom League stuff will be free so do not sweat the random commlink stuff. If you want your own personal commlink that is fine.

Well, I am used to make characters that has dozens of alternate powers and was planning on that when I thought of the Energy Controller, but then I just ended up going for the far simpler Paragon. :)

As for equipment, then I chose that mostly to get the cellphone. I thought one could use both a PDA and laptop without really knowing that much about it (I mean I got a mother who hardly even knows how to turn on the computer, but she can still check her email and such). With Virus Vista or Virus XP it's very intuitive so even an idiot (such as my character) can do it. ;)

Speaking of which I have picked the Team.

This is of course contingent on us getting Sheets squared away.

Jemal: Psyker; telekinetic soldier
Elric: Dragonfist; martial artist
DM-Matt: Arsenal of Democracy; battlesuit
Bialaska: Supreme Girl; paragon
Tailspinner: Pink Lightning; speedster
Mark Chance: John Stone; mystic weapon

And thank you for having me. :) I'm really looking forward to being part of this group. :)

If any players know anything about New York, either coming from there or maybe once in a while following the news, they may at least have heard about a local heroine going by the name of Supreme Girl. Perhaps other heroes native to the Big Apple may have worked with her a few times. Anyone who knows anything about her should know that she's not exactly the most subtle heroine, usually wandering through fire fights, before knocking out the villains. The few interviews that she has given has shown her as... not the brightest lightbulp in the city. But her heart is in the right place and that's the most important, right?

My take on equipment is stuff you take out adventuring with you and plan to use somehow to benefit you in the adventure.

For example almost everyone has a car and a PC and a cellphone in today's society. But someone like the Question uses those things to further the adventure. Feel free to keep the point of equipment if you want but I have a feeling with your build it wont be that useful. I mean even the 1st time Dr Destructo (or whomever) blasts her with his MegaNegaBlast that sprint phone is slag.

Ahh. Well, then I guess I'll cash in the equipment for something else. :) None of it was meant to be used during an adventure (though I guess the cellphone could be used to call other people, both PCs and NPCs, and with access to a computer, we could google for "Dr. Destructo's Super-Duper-Secret Hideout".

Specifically from Mind Reading

As a mental sensory effect, Mind Reading has a degree
of subtlety, only noticeable to the subject or to characters with
an appropriate Super-Sense, such as Mental Awareness (see the
Super-Senses effect). Subtle Mind Reading is less detectable,
requiring a DC 20 Notice check for either type of character to
sense it, while two ranks of the Subtle power feat makes Mind
Reading completely undetectable.

So yeah everyone would know someone is peekinginto their thoughts.

"Get...out...of...my...HEAD!"
