Macho Women With Guns: Thoughts & Comments

Got my copy of MWWG today... first off, this book is hilarious. It's a spoof of.... everything. The disclaimers at the beginning were proof that this book was for me. It's basically a whacked out d20 Modern version of Y: The Last Man (from DC Comics/Vertigo). Only there's more than one man in the world. I highly recommend this book (only 20 bucks on buy.com) to anyone with a perverse sense of humor who is willing to try something different with their game.

Onto the shock...

Mongoose has stated that the book was fine, according to WOTC. But man, there's a lot of nipple slips in the book... Which is fine, since I'm a breast man, but unless Mongoose told WOTC that the women are wrapped in celophane, it would technically go against the d20 agreement.

The best was... well... there's a picture of a little alien with a hat that says "sex tourist" holding a glass of water and a pill. His t-shirt says (ADULT LANGUAGE! ERIC'S GRANDMOTHER DON'T READ)
I WENT TO EARTH AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS F---ING T-SHIRT AND AN S.T.D.
. I laughed my ass off! I don't know why it was so funny... but it is.

Kudos to Mongoose for putting out a full color light hearted book that will definitely see use in the future... Now if only we could get a print version of PORTABLE HOLE FULL OF BEER, life would be perfect... :D

Macho women with Guns is a remake of an older game; it sounds like it has carried the elder's spirit on to a "T". :)

It's actually based on a tactical combat game that came out 15 years ago or so. There were several add-ons/new games in the series. Such as the stunningly originally named "More, Macho Women with Gun". If the D20 version has the same sense of humor and witty writing then it should be quite entertaining.

Yes, I know it's a remake. But it still has the d20 logo on the cover, and peeks over the top in some of the art.

Speaking of art... while it's not Stan!, it's definitely captures the quirky feel of the game with a d20 Modern twist. I kinda like it.

So are they going to do the supplements?

I really *must* run MWWG again one of these days...I still have the first printed one, before they changed a certain monster's name to "Bthulhu."

I think this is very interesting. I'm not in favor of the latest content changes to the d20 license but this product might be a good acid test of the license agreement. Seems to me that, based on the license and what they did to BoEF, they should clamp down on this one too. Otherwise, it just kind of screams that the changes were designed specifically to suppress BoEF.
Hey, I'm in favor of this kind of satirical work. (I'm also in favor of adult-themed materials aimed at adult consumers or religiously-challenging materials as well.) But I'm also in favor of WotC treating its licenced 3rd party producers even handedly.

Let's see ... I remember an aerial combat supplement titled Bat-Winged Bimbos From Hell, and my all-time favorite, the vehicular combat supplement, Renegade Nuns On Wheels. The artwork on the cover of that one could have been pulled straight from SJ Games' Kung Fu CB Mamas on Wheels Vs. The Motorcycle Aztec Wrestling Nuns, if that game had actually existed ...
