Magic Item Creation-extra turning

Interesting. Back in 2e, I had some priests who didn't turn undead who had a turn undead spell. It was 3rd level, and casting it was just like a cleric using a turn attempt. That's prolly where I'd start in working out a price for an item that performs turning.

Bingo! Me = Lazy. What I meant was, "What would be the price of a wondrous item with 50 charges of turn attempts?"

Eesh... like Staffan, I would rather have an item grant a flat-out feat then with 50 charges. With 50 turn attempts, it potentially allows a PC to use them all up in the course of a single day of dungeon delving. Depending on what rules you use for turning in your campaign and how you interpret turning, this may lead to disaster.

In this case, your item could thus give 4 extra turning attempts per day.

Imagine the ability to store 50 turning attempts with things such as Divine Metamagic, Persistent Spell, and other Metamagic nastyness...

... get my drift ?

This is why I prefer the Arcana Evolved method of item creation, where the feats are "Craft Charged Item", "Craft Single Use Item", "Craft Spell Completion Item". and "Craft Constant Item" instead of craft wand, brew potion, and craft scrolls, and craft wonderous items (for example).

Form shouldn't dictate costs...power should.
