Love the thread concept. I went through a similar exercise when I wanted to use the Asura mini.

I'm starting to think a hunter ranger might be an interesting way to go. The mini catches him in mid-switching-items-around.

Maybe it's a "superior hand crossbow". Like the fullblade, greatspear, and so forth, it's an oversized version that's so big you have to use it in two hands. You know, a two-handed hand crossbow. Maybe it could do, like, a d8 damage.

That's basically where I went with him. Superior crossbow and greataxe. Of course, you have the usual sticky problem of needing two magic weapons.
