Moving further down the tunnel, a deep chilling forbodance sets on each of the men. Are the shadows cast by the lantern darker? blacker? The ceiling feels like it is pressing down, that it will crush the life from each of you rather than let you pass.

Just as things seem to be close to their worst the tunnel opens into a room of some sort. The ceiling is higher (thankfully) but the sense of dread remains.

Reis' stride breaks as he enters the room and he shivers slightly. He tries to shrink back into the shadows as he walks, eyes darting around the blackened corridors and doorways. "There is something unnatural about this place," he says slowly, his voice not entirely steady. "My heart misgives me here." His grip slowly tightens around his rapier hilt.

Viktor winced as the rocks struck his companions, remaining quiet as he looks about in case more falls. When the group resumes moving, Viktor follows in silence, until the group reaches the a point where the ceiling rises. As he did so, his skin tense and prickled as his grip on the hilt tightened, though the boy gave no outward sign of his sudden fear.

The room is laced with alcoves and light from the noon day sun shines at the far end. A few of the alcoves house crypts and the symbol of Phyrah is placed on each of them. The tunnel must have led you to the temple that was next door to the hospice. Starting towards the light you wonder at what is making almost everyone feel dread and doom to their very bones.

From all of the alcoves skeletons emerge wearing tattered robes. The menacing red glow from their empty eye sockets adds a further sense of dread in the pits of your stomachs.

Reis blanches, and then curses under his breath. He spins around, looking first at the skeletons and then back into the shadows of the passage the party entered from.

"Quickly, shall we retreat to the hallway? It's narrow enough that they would have to come one at a time..." Reis pauses for breath and goes on. "If not, we'd better get back against the wall or we'll be surrounded."
