Dave, are there still slots open?

So far, yeah. Hurry up, though! Either I'll let everyone have a crack, and run the hugest game ever, split the party up into a smaller few, or just pick the cream of the crop.

So, in short, make your character real f'in' good.

Ok. Time to check some concepts and if they fit with you. Could I run a cleric of thor? Think imigrant from Scandanvia, worshipping his ancestral gods. Or are greek, norse, egyptian, etc gods dead? Im sure I can think of something else, if that wont fit in with your world.

Well, I mean, it sounds oddball and rad -- but I can't really allow it. I'm not quite familiar enough with 1800s Scandanvian culture. :D

But, in a similar vein, you could play: a Native-American who venerates his ancestral gods, a Mexican padre who venerates the ancestral Aztec gods (overtly or in secret) in place of the Christian faith, an American or European scholar who chooses to venerate the Norse pantheon, etc.

Sorry, dude. ;)

Eh, the new concept Idea you gave me is one I like better. Are planes in this world? Because I was thinking a Conjurer who summons things from a certain deitys plane would be pretty awsome.
Edit - Woah Woah Woah. A Lawyer Wizard would probaly be the coolest thing ever. Consider it done.

Hurrah! :D

A couple of questions:

1) How are we handling armor? Is it ok for our characters to be walking around in chain mail and full plate (I'm guessing no :D), or would you rather we stuck to armor of the time (of which I'm not entirely sure what existed)? Or are we using some kind of Defence bonus, ala d20 Modern?

2) My current concept is an on-the-run bar-room brawler, but looking over the characters we've got so far, we don't seem to have any divine magic. Should I switch back to some kind of clerical character to give the group some healing magic, or is this lack of healing not going to be too much of a problem?

1) The Spanish actually wandered around in plate mail well into the 1800s. :D I guess it's hard to give up the prestige and badassery afforded by BIG F'ING HUNKS OF STEEL STRAPPED TO ONE'S PERSON.

2) I care little for traditional fantasy tropes. Divine healing, shmivine healing. If you guys are seriously getting eaten, then maybe I'll do something about it. Besides, it's looking like we've got several clerical blokes coming.

Good point :D On that note, any chance of basing Intimidate off Strength rather than Charisma for my character. I see him being about as smooth as sandpaper, but rather physically persuasive... ;)

OK, cool. Just wanted to check I wasn't bailing on the medic position.

Well, Charisma isn't a measure of "smoothness", but rather force of personality. So, play him as brooding as you want, but he's not getting any bonuses for it. :D

Though, in certain occasions, I'll give a bonus for showing your strength, like breaking through a table while interrogating someone.
