Marked by Destiny, Marked by Tragedy (Erekose13 Judging)

(OOC: I've never seen a Changeling in any Eberron game ever that admits they are such, except Mel in Secret Scion, and she only did that for her closest friends, plus she consideed the Elven version of herself to be her 'real' form, and the Changeling ability makes her some kind of monster or freak)

OOC: We had one in the very first adventure admit it because he needed to use his ability, but that was after we'd been working togeather for a while. Some changlings don't mind saying who they are, and some walk around in their natural state, but it depends on the character.

"One of you should go see what that's about. Perhaps he has a plan. I'll watch the little one," Arvan says.

Silvanon Rogue 1, Hp: 7/7

"One of you pretty boys go over and make nice with the watch."

Silvanon looks over each member in the group, trying to figure out which one would be foolish enough to invite themselves into a holding cell.

The elf then looks around, trying to figure out how to make the best profit from this situation -- but secretly admitting that it looks grim and becoming more bleak.

(OOC: To help speed things along--)

*When the group finally decides who to send, Alys greets them.*

"Ah, <INSERT NAME HERE>! Welcome my dear sidekick. The watch would like to add itself to our list of esteemed clients, which should help us gather more lucre, so Weapon and I are talking with them in here. You keep gathering clues, okay? I'll meet you right after this."

As the group decides who should approach, they see Alysina and Weapon enter the small building with the watch. Three of the guards following them remain outside, while the other two and the dragonmarked Denieth enter. Inside is pretty cramped. The first floor is a watch station with a small table and 4 chairs. A small deck of cards and an abandoned broadsheet are lying on top of the table as the single watchman who remains on duty is standing at attention to one side. A ladder rises to the second floor where presumably another small cramped space has cots or some other form of relaxation.

The guard in the room says, "Sir, were there any problems at the scene of the fire? Jeck said that it was nothing but a smoldering ruin when he came back from helping the fire crew."

"At ease, watchman Phell. We spotted these two who might have information for us. If you could leave us alone I think we'd like to borrow your common room for a little chat." replies your Denieth escort.

"Ah yes sir, no problem." replies Phell as he goes to stand outside with the other three. The two who accompanied you in remain standing by the door. While your host offers you each one of the seats around the small table.

Outside the rest of you see a fourth watchmen join the other three as they start talking a little ways away from the door.

ooc: sorry you guys took too long. I'll move it along on my end while you decide who is going to approach.

*Alys sits down comfortably around the table.*

"Alright then. I'm all ears--I'd like to hear the terms under which you'd like to hire me. If I accept, then I'll give you what I've uncovered so far and keep you appraised of future discoveries."

"Hire you!?" the Denieth scion sputters, "I wasn't hiring you. You were at the scene of a crime and are witnesses. I want to know more about what you saw and what you've heard about the vision. I'm not paying you." he says incredulously. The guards in the room remain at ease knowing that despite what they may say this inquisitive and her bodyguard were not dangerous, yet.

(OOC: Is he just acting in bad faith? Alysina has said maybe four times now that she's a detective, not a witness, and she expects to be paid and hired for clues she has unearthed, rather than just be interrogated, as it is her livelihood to gather and analyse clues. There was also this note previously--

*When it's clear that she is willing to work for the watch, rather than this being an interrogation, Alysina agrees to follow along to the local station.*
