... went back and added another half-page of Social Combat while I was formatting the magic items.
Don't be afraid to put some stuff in reserve for the next book! No reason you can't be ahead on the next project.
yeah, feature creep is real.
D'awww! That's so sweet of you both!

But this material won't work for my next book which I'm not -allowing- myself to think about to avoid focusing on that project instead of this project.

6 pages of Heraldry and Magic Banners, 2 pages of Social Combat, 4 pages of an Injury system.

... talk about a productive 4 day weekend!

All without any art in the layout. Just pure text.

I know, I know... Feature Creep.

But when I wake up at 4am sometimes I just -have- to write...

What about a Herald's Fealty to their Oath? Would they benefit from this Fealty system you are making?

There was some talk on another thread about an incentive being needed for Heralds, Clerics and Warlocks staying true to their oath or to their esoteric liege. This system sounds like it could be a big help to anyone playing those classes. :)

One could certainly choose fealty to that and get rewards from (the church, the kingdom, the knightly order, etc) to back it up, sure!

Adding murderous mobility aids to the gear section. Because, honestly, warriors with disabilities deserve to strap axe blades onto their crutches or have a fashionable cane with an iron core and beautiful brass studs for use as a tetsubo. Or have wheelchairs that double as armor for their lower body.

Similarly, magic wheelchairs should totally be a thing! Like Serpent-Wheeled Chairs where the wheels conform to the surface they're rolling on to allow you to just roll upstairs like they're a slope. Where your wheels pull this crap on each stair:

And hey, how about a broad general rule about how mobility based magic items just automatically apply to any mobility aid you're using? Boots of Striding and Springing should absolutely apply to your wheelchair so long as you're using them!

Look at these beautiful things and tell me elves wouldn't grow them out of ironwood for their disabled children and make the supportive part into a fancy blade for emergency combat use!

So that's been my morning. How're y'all?

So I'm taking some of this thread's advice on Weapon Properties and making them malleable...

The firearms rebalance for this book basically turns all firearms into crossbows, kinda sorta not really.

Light one handed firearm. 1d6 piercing damage, 30/80 range, dual-wielding, loading
Heavy one handed firearm. 1d8 piercing damage, 50/100 range, heavy, loading
Light two handed firearm. 1d8 piercing damage, 100/220 range, loading
Heavy two handed firearm. 1d10 piercing damage, 150/300 range, heavy, loading

But then...

You might note that you can now have Crossbow Revolvers with a higher price. The intention, there, is for when your narrator doesn't want -guns- in the game, but still wants to let you play your cool gunslinger character.

Because nerdery is varied and wild.

I've also got Semiautomatic, Burst Fire, Automatic, and Scopes. Each providing its own benefit, though Burst Fire requires you purchase Semiautomatic and Automatic requires both Burst Fire -and- Semiautomatic.

It's a whole thing!

Together with the armor/weapon modification rules in AG and VC I could see a whole "so you aren't 100% happy with the weapon/armor you want..."-booklet.
