Darkhunter feat in Martial power
Prerequisites: 11th level, drow, ranger, Hunter’s Quarry class feature
Those requirements are met by a Drow Rogue who is multi-classed as a Ranger
Benefit: Anyone who is currently in your cloud of darkness is a quarry to you. You can deal Hunter’s Quarry damage against each quarry that you hit in the cloud. So basically anyone and everyone in the cloud would take hunters quarry damage even though you are normally very limited in your quarry potential. If you take Drow wanderer Paragon Path at 20 you get Darkblade which drops your darkness on the target as a "sustain minor and move it up to 3 if you want as part of the sustain"
How does this interface so to speak with the limitations on the MC feat to get hunter's quarry lasting only so long and once per encounter, does this essentially bypass it, allowing a rogue with the MC feat and this feat to quarry all day long as long as his darkness is up.
If so you then take your darkness, enhanced to burst 2. You use Darkblade. You now drop a 5x5 grid of darkness on a target, sustain minor to keep it around forever and mobile, and anyone inside it is your quarry.
Then if you factor in say Whirlwind Sneak Attack which lets you pick a rogue encoutner power and sneak attack every target it hits as long as you have CA vs them. With your new mobile cloud you can probably get a pretty big aoe party.
If you get the drop on a tight group and can close distance fast enough you can use Darkblade on a centrally located enemy in a grouping, action point to then use your encounter power with sneak attacks, essentially doing 5w vs the main guy and encounter power+3d6+4d8 per person in the area of the encounter as long as they were in the darkness as well (at level 21)
I guess the fun part is that just anyone in your cloud is subject to your attack +4d8+3d6 from sneak attack quarry bonuses.
If this is less than coherent, sorry, I tried to edit it down to be readable.
