Marvel Heros "Teen" Campaign

Sounds like a good team mix.

LOCK: Is that character something like Terra from The Outsiders?

THE GREY HOOD: Those batons- are they straight like escrima sticks or do they have an offset handle like a nightstick?

While I am not super familiar with Terra from the Outsiders, I believe that he is similar to the former teen titan/powergirl sidekick?
But yeah he has the power of Earth Manipulation and out of all the team he probably has the biggest variety of "stunts" with his powers.

The batons at first I wanted to go escrima but then I remembered that Night Thrasher/Justice did that so maybe I will go Tonfa style.

The original Terra (with whom I'm most familiar) was an Earth manipulating heroine who was the younger sister of the hero Geo-Force. Her powers were utilized in a similar fashion to Marvel's Iceman.

She was a nutter, though. Went crazy and tried to kill some people and killed herself in the process.

THE GREY HOOD: She is a stealthy fighter type she uses twin batons(maybe energy powered maybe not)
And

I was thinking about what you said about making them energized...is she just a straight-up, no-frills costumed martial artist? Or are you looking to make her something...more?

There's all kinds of routes to jazz her up: high tech or magic batons/battlestaff, mutant, alien.

Hmm

How about throwing in someone whose the child of supervillain (or supervillains) who has enrolled because they're not interested in following in their parents footsteps but have used an alias to avoid the infamy that comes with being such a child, the reverse problem your main hero has.

You could have them show interest in helping your heroes until their true parentage gets out and you have them deal with the ramifications that their friend is potentially a very dangerous foe since they're just as capable if not more powerful than they are given they've been trained specifically to be able to take of themselves but you have the rather interesting possibility that their reaction may result in their friend following their parents path because of the reaction of your heroes or a potential ally who'll be able to help them if they end up fighting supervillains their friend actually knows and might be able to talk out of doing something very bad as a result.

Well it is an idea and as I recall ps238 also takes in supervillain kids too...

Actually yes! I had thought about a few going redemptions road and a few who's current legal situation forced them here. Such as if the supervillain is in jail and the system knows the child is supes too then they may force the kid to go to a regulated Supers-school.

So yeah awesome idea

Sky High

Now that the Colts are done I have some time to watch all the afore mentioned shows and media.

As i recall one of the characters from that film has that exact problem.

Of course it helps that the "hero" of the movie is an idiot!

Liked the villain from that movie though and after you've watched it you might want to take a look at some deleted scenes which I believe are still on you tube especially as they involve a "very" playful Linda Carter!

The problem with the request is for 'teenage' and the one playing is nine. there are huge swathes of differences between what's age themed for one and aged theme for another one.

For example, Runaways and Young Avengers both deal with fairly mature themes and the cast is young in both. Both of which are excellent comics in my opinion thanks to limited interaction with the greater MU and suffering only a bit when forced into crossovers, which Marvel actually handled well by having them cross over with each other.

For a person as young as nine playing, I'd focus on the fun stuff. If it's an Asgaridan especially, doing some exploration of the Nine Worlds and when on earth, doing fairly 'light' things like focusing on the simple aspects of good versus evil.

Joe you bring up an excellent point. My son is indeed much younger than his character. We tend to gloss over the harder points of being a superhero. Like I said we are in a late silver/early bronze age. He doesn't stop the bully who took your lunch but said bully isn't a brain eating alien in disguise.

I kind of constructed the campaign to insulate him a bit in the storyline. His dad being one of the most powerful heros ever put into a comic book helps.

For the most part our sessions run just like a justice league cartoon(circa 1980 "meanwhile back at the Hall of Justice"). The school will help with this device quite a bit I believe. Should come up in our next session.
