Master of Nine Errata?

In the old Book of Nine Swords, there is a PrC, The Master of Nine. The sample character is
Vaunred the Walker, male human swordsage 7/master of nine 3.

To get into the PrC, you need improved initiative, improved unarmed combat, dodge, blind fighting, and adaptive style. That's five feats. Minimum level would be, assuming human, 9th level.

Yet this sample gets in at 7th level.

Is there errata for the requirements on this class or did I just miread the requirements?

No errata as yet. I'd remove the Imp Unarmed Strike prereq, though.

Does the sample have any fighter levels? Many of those feats can be taken as fighter bonus feats.

No, I'd say it's a classic example of WotC's poor editing. It's a mistake that they didn't catch before sending it to the printer. I caught it as soon as I read it. It's not the first time you'll find a NPC that couldn't even qualify for the PrC he's supposed to be an example of. It happens on a regular basis in WotC's books. He should be a swordsage 9/master of nine 3 or a swordsage 7/fighter 1/master of nine 3.

It's nothing new. The Highland Stalker in Complete Adventurer is a ranger and doesn't qualify, though a scout, ninja, or rogue would.

Maybe Vaunred the Walker is the unarmed swordsage variant for the bonus feat improved unarmed strike?
